So we have taken Maik Taylor on trial. Obviously as a replacement for rachubka for when McCarthy goes back to reading http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11715/7310510/Taylor-lands-Leeds-trial Thoughts? Hes 40 years old now which for me is too old even for a keeper but i suppose could do a job as number 2 for a year. In truth though i'd prefer someone else.
what a joke. i know its a position we need filling but for **** sake. window opens in january so no more than a couple of months deal please! mind you with had a few on trial that didnt make it and im betting bates isnt paying for his hotel. Roll on the wums and piss takers, id have a swipe too if it wasnt my club!
it is a bit of a joke that we cant fill the position, we need to really step up our game in this area.
Grayson wants his head testing, I bet there are a dozen 3rd choice premier keepers better than him that could join us on loan IF we need one.
i kinda thought about this again though and to be fair, he wouldnt be a bad second choice keeper, at 40 he is only going to finish this season but he would be very level headed in the dressing room and he could even start into coaching. I dont think this looks as bad an idea as what it does on the surface although i am guilty of that also
Why waste money, we keep Cairns on the bench, Lonergan when fit otherwsie the loanee, if Lonergan gets injured again we bring in another loan or do that anyway.
Im not sure i agree with that. We cant just bring in loans when we want, what if no one is available which is quite likely. And surely you'd prefer to have someone that is more comfortable with the squad rather than someone who doesnt know the team
Bates said they tried 40 keepers after the blackpool defeat but none of the clubs would let them go so we had to go for Reading keeper but he was only available for a short period! By the time he goes back Lonergan will be fit and Maik Taylor probably wont even start for us ever, but if hes needed hes decent and better than Chewbakka
I thought Alan Martin was a decent stopper! Saw him (albeit againt Wakefield) and he had a blinder...thought he'd make a decent keeper one day!
Its a hard position as a goalkeeper, you gotta be really patient and when the chance comes take it with both hands, Alan Martin never got the chance shame because he couldve been getting regular starts now,
