The way these Norwich commentators are going on you’d think they’d been completely robbed, rather than being pretty **** for most of the game
Playing three attack-minded midfielders didn't really help our cause, and none of the back four covered themselves in glory to put it mildly. Our needs are still very much through the middle of the park.
To be fair, the fact that we can fight back is something we haven't seen for years. At least Martin gives us hope, if only he could sort out our defending.
Quick word for Charles, who's passing forward and calmness on the ball was very similar to a certain other City youth player.
My point was I hadn’t seen the “we will walk the league” comments you claim. But I haven’t read every post. That is not being pedantic. Just pointing out my own observations. On a forum. No need to try and passive aggressively police what people say The most I have seen is that others have pointed out that lots of the other teams don’t seem very good either
If Martin can figure out how he wants this team to defend we will be brilliant. As it is, hopeless without the ball and fantastic with it. Set to be a brilliant season but unless Martin learns how to play without possession we won't be going up.
4-4. After the measly offerings that proved costly last season in the rarefied prem, that was a big plate of decent, honest and hearty fare, served Championship style. That will keep us going for the week!
Thank feck there's no VAR or Adam Armstrong would just be getting slagged off for not doing anything Two very soft penalties. Shame. Going forward can we pick Amo-Ameyaw over Edozie please, and Anyone > Stu Armstrong? We dont have the greatest of defences and with those guys ahead of them offering nothing, we will suffer again and again.
Well that was absolutely f*cking mental. Some of the mistakes being made by the defence were absolutely shocking. I'm going to put it down too early season rust, but my gosh. Going forward though, we look so dangerous. Just love all the one touch passing. Alcaraz once he gets going, is going to light up this division. Got to keep hold of him. Amo-Ameyaw is filthy. Tella on the left instead of Edozie looked better. Gotta keep Che; he'll bang them in for fun in the Champ. Special mention to Charles as well; kid looks brilliant. So calm and great at passing. So, in sum, sort the bloody defence out, and we'll be fine. EDIT: And of course, props to Arma. A lot of pressure on him, cool as you like.
I guess that answers the 'who will take the penalties' - confident bloke taking that in injury time after taking an earlier one. Positives - we scored 4, didn't lose, and didn't give up despite being behind 3 times in the game, including with 5 minutes plus injury time to go. At least there was no frickin' VAR on either penalty - I wonder if they'd have stood after about 20 minutes examining them from every angle? Negatives - our defence appears to be very, very poor. Our goalkeeper, regardless of whether the goals were actually his fault seems to mainly just let goals in. So we have to at a minimum score 2 goals every game to get a win.
After the horror show of Norwich's 4th goal great to see no heads drop. And my word Sam AA is going to be some player.
