There’s no promises Brighton will accept any kind of bid from Chelsea. They had a deadline and missed it. Wouldn’t surprise me if Brighton reject any further bids and tell him it’s either lfc or no one this summer.
Oh come on - I quoted the deal-is-a-deal thing this morning, but after seeing Klopp at his conference and finding out there was no agreement with the actual player himself it's obvious that Brighton won't be turning down £111m+ out of some sort of honour to Liverpool.
Agent Milner probably knows whats going down and some nasty tackles be flying in training come this week.
FFP is a myth. We know that, they know that, have to just accept it and move on. Hopefully we had eyes on more targets.
Brighton won't say 'no' to £110million no matter who it comes from. They just want this deal to hurry up so they can sign a replacement.
oh it's totally tongue in cheek. its more like "get to **** lfc, you are having us in here". there's a lot of us looking at this wondering what the hell is going on here so it all imploding is no shock so you might as well have a giggle about it.
If there was one club then Brighton would be the one. They don’t like chelsea and they wa they conduct their business so chelsea would have to at least beat that price not just match it and even then wouldn’t surprise me if Brighton said nope. Had a deadline and out of respect to lfc. We have a good relationship with them it seems and Tony bloom and Paul barber have a good reputation
I'm away for a day and miss all the fun. Read the headline this morning and I was coming on to say well done agent Milner....... Brighton reportedly telling him he stays there or goes to Liverpool and his agent desperately urging him to accept Chelsea if they match the offer. Agents are a stain on the game. Whatever happens with this transfer, hope he bins them off.
Nothing came of the investigation into City or Everton, and City were in far bigger breach than Chelsea. Nothing will come of Chelsea's FFP violations either. FFP is not enforced, it's nothing more than a "gentlemanly agreement" that the only people who agree to it don't have the money to break it anyway.
Two days ago there were rumblings of Thuram being an option again... any hope there, especially now we know we have money? Or just lazy journalism stirring up old stories?
I presume the agent has a private side deal that's massive. this is off now anyway. It was utterly bipolar behaviours and reminiscent of 2011 when we went mad and bought carroll in panic. I can only conclude there's serious panic round the corridors over our midfield after preseason.
Really comes down to whether or not Tony Bloom honours his word. They hold an auction with a deadline, which we won. They should not be entertaining any other offers
This is the situation. Until Chelsea actually bid, match our offer and Brighton decide to accept (given they put a time limit on), then Chelsea aren't an option for him. Simply put he either stays at Brighton or moves to us at this current stage.
I wonder what the odds are, this is all a stunt by Chelsea to prevent him being eligible in time for Sunday and they don't really want to match our bid.... ^^^^ I'm fairly sure that's not the case but it would be funny in a sneaky way if it were true. Not that I'd want him to start anywhere other than the bench if he were avialable, at least until he's had time to train with the team.
