I guess I’m looking at it from a point of view which is that he’s accumulated us countless points over the years to help us reach CL football, and get to the latter stages of competitions.

I’m willing to forgive the bloke for being human and not managing to do it 100% of the time, bearing in mind his track record of goals and general performances speaks for itself.

Well seeing as you only wanted to bring up the bad in a fantastic player it would certainly seem so.

Forget all the NLD heroics and records in NLD and London derbies, the times he bailed the club out, the individual club records etc, let’s just focus on what Kane didn’t do.

    That’s my viewpoint too.

95% of the time Kane was excellent for us. 9 years of unbelievable memories, goals and performances.

Why does the 5% get brought up to diminish him?

Well that's exactly how it is argued that Levy is bad for the club. Ignore the best ever run of League finishes and all the semi-finals and finals and only count trophies. That's completely wrong for Levy just as it is for Kane.

So one of my neighbours has been deafening the neighbourhood with a combination of chainsaws and a tree shredder since around 7:30 this morning

So if the rest of the day would kindly not irritate me in the slightest, that'd be grand...

It’s only a small section that blame Levy for the trophies. Many acknowledge the team and manager(s) for our final defeats.

What many blame Levy for is multiple occasions of failing to back managers with their prime targets and then going off the boil with footballing decisions, as well as ripping fans off with tickets.

Levy’s also undoing all of the great work he initially done. Kane consistently banged in goals up until the day he left.

Gift Orban + a couple of the best players in the 17-19 range would be the right choice. Spurs have 0 chance of contending for big trophies this year and next year. The question is whether they'll finally do what they should have done years ago, and try to build for the future. The question also is whether Postecoglou will be allowed to do that, or whether he'll be thrown to the Wolves. That sheep suit Levy has him wearing doesn't bode well.

You can read what you like into stats.
There are so many variables in a team game.
There are factors which would make it less likely that Kane would score in big games
    - Spurs and/or England would usually be playing against a strong opponent
    - as a result, Spurs/England may have less of the ball, create fewer chances etc
    - Kane would be identified as a danger and marked closely (usually by top class defenders)
    - although there are exceptions, these types of games are usually low scoring
Isolating specific stats is great for an argument, but rarely proves anything.
Commentators love to trot them out - player x always scores against team y. Maybe he does, but it’s usually just a statistical quirk rather than evidence of a particular strength or weakness by one or the other.
We can judge Kane by what we see regularly with our own eyes - and the overall stars which show him to be a consistent and prolific goalscorer (although he’s more than that)
And on a related note, there’s still time for Utd to hijack the move

I really hope he’s allowed. Its he who I feel most sorry for.

I’m sure he was told about the rebuild at hand upon agreeing to take over but coming into the hardest league in the world, needing to revamp an awful defence, add creativity to an industrious midfield and now deal with having to replace arguably the club’s best player two days out from our season opener, it’s like we’re throwing rocks and boulders at him as he tries running up a hill.

One of those would be Evan Ferguson from Brighton. Top prospect and as close to a young 'Kane'-like striker in the PL as there is.

I dread to think what they’d demand from him.

They’re getting £110m from Pool for Caicedo.

With Ferguson being touted as the next big thing, there might be a 2 at the start of their negotiations and it won’t be double digits either <laugh>

2PAC to play a gig at their stadium?

I mean it might take a bit of effort, but if that's what it takes...

I suppose, as much as this hurts, this is the Big Reset we've avoided for over four years. The one Poch spoke at length about before being sacked 3 months into it.

Ideally, that reset would've and should've been built around Kane, but years of knee jerk decision making has spoiled that ideal. The alarm bells should've been ringing since the failed City approach two years ago, but if anything we've gone further backwards in that time, seeing four different managers in the dugout.

So now the Big Reset is exactly what it says on the tin. Only Son remains (assuming Dier and Davies return to the bench) in the first team from the group of 'nearly men' who got so close without a cigar. Time for change all round I think, including at the very top, but that part is out of anyone's control and highly unlikely to happen.

Weirdly I felt more sentimental when Modric and Bake left, perhaps because I knew I hadn't seen them at their absolute best in a Spurs shirt - that the best was yet to come. Harry we've seen grow from a gangly young lad going from loan to loan, into one of the most complete strikers in the history of the game. And that has been a privilege and a pleasure to watch. So whereas I somewhat begrudged Modric, Bale and others their moves away, I genuinely wish him all the very best. Beating one of our PL rivals in a CL final and scoring the winning goal would be poetically lovely.

Over to you, Daniel. You've nowhere left to hide.

If it happens, I'd rather repay the new WHL debt
rather than a repeat of the summer 2013 signings.

    Spend the money on
    Orban
    Tapsoba
    Eze

That would constitute a very good window imo.

If Kane goes to Munich, then the Shearer PL scoring record
is obviously not a big motivator. If he wants a PL/CL winners
medal and possibly Shearers' record, that is very possible
by going to Citeh or the Poool next season on a free, for
low wages, and if necessary be a Wes Brown in the
    Fergie era,

All three (being the lead striker + PL/CL medals +
the Shearer record) is a case of "eating your cake and then
having it" . That ship sailed when Citeh showed they
were not as wealthy (under UEFA FFP) as they claim +
were stupid enough to get done by Villa on Grealish.
