So, the EFL cup kicks off tonight with our first game tomorrow. Has it always had the North/South divide at this stage? Anyway, do we fancy a run in the competition or are we just going get some limited use out of it to bed down the squad? Have to say that I wouldn't mind a run in one of the cups this season. It's been a few years since our last Wembley adventure and furthermore, I don't like the fact that the Jacks have won something that we haven't .
Other football cling, so I suppose anything not championship related is fair game. Colchester haven't kicked a ball in anger yet, with their home game against Swindon rained off on Saturday. They may therefore play a full strength team just to get a game under their belt. We'll need to make a change with Ralls injured and probably need to protect McGuiness who went into the game injured, but would like to see a few more given game time, just not wholesale changes. Give Ugbo another run up front, maybe Colwill or Robinson off him. Plenty chance to give a few players more than 10 minutes off the bench.
A bit of a cup adventure (be it this one or the FA cup) would be nice for a change... I'm really beginning to miss our regular Wembley trips... Match thread will hopefully get posted tonight/early tomorrow morning... flippin work getting in the way at the moment
Become an MP. £85k a year and you don't have to do anything. Plenty of time for book and match threads. Of course, if you want to make even more, get a job on the telly and get your book sponsored, just stand up in the commons once or twice and say stupid things.
Plenty of support for Brizzle's next career move on here. Can we have an MP for the constituency of Not606 Cardiff?
Saying stupid things is one of my fortes!! I'll avoid the TV though thanks, having a face for radio and all that... plus I'm sure I could just about make the £85k stretch enough to not worry about needing extra cash, though my Peroni stash is likely to remain smaller than Young-MiddleAged-Oldsparky's with that kind of income.. Maybe I could look to get a sponsorship deal with them instead though? I do find Peroni works well as a creative thinking aid!! Bluebird Match Day Threads brought to you by Peroni doesn't sound so bad does it??
Don’t show numbers 7 and 9 to Masky! Lost UK commentaries... 1) "Dumbarton player, Stever McCahill, has limped off with a badly cut head" (Tom Ferrie) 2) "Being naturally right-footed, he doesn't often chance his arm with his left foot (Trevor Brooking) 3) "This match could go either way. It could even be a draw" (Bobby Charlton) 4) "What I said to them at half-time would be unprintable on the radio" (Gerry Francis) 5) "In terms of the Richter scale, this defeat was a force eight gale" (John Lyall) 6) "And I honestly believe we can go all the way to Wembley... unless somebody knocks us out" (Dave Bassett) 7) "Ardiles strokes the ball like it's part of his anatomy" (Jimmy Magee) 8) "If we played like that every week, we wouldn't be so inconsistent" (Bryan Robson) 9) "Mark Hughes at his best; he loves to feel people right behind him" (Kevin Keegan) 10) "You don't score 64 goals in 86 games, at the highest level, without being able to score goals" (Alan Green) 11) "If history is going to repeat itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again" (Terry Venables) 12) " I'm not a believer in luck... but I do believe you need it" (Alan Ball) 13) "Celtic manager, David Hay, still has a fresh pair of legs up his sleeve" (John Grieg) 14) "There is no way Ryan Giggs is another George Best. He's another Ryan Giggs" (Denis Law) 15) "That was only a yard away from being an inch-perfect pass" (Murdo MacLeod) 16) "He's one of the greatest players in the world, if not one of the greatest anywhere" (Sky Andrew) 17) "I never make predictions and I never will" (Paul Gascoigne) 18) "If that had gone in, it would have been a goal" (David Coleman) 19) "They were numerically outnumbered" (Gary Birtles) 20) "Barnsley have started off the way they mean to begin" (Chris Kamara)
That means that next season after Hamburg have been promoted, he'll get to see what a proper striker looks like
I'm wondering if Brighton are the best run club in the country. They certainly do well in the transfer market.
