Hopefully Rosenior can turn it around, although to me it seems so amateurish that the teams tactics hadn’t covered if a team doesn’t attempt to press considering that’s all of what this rosie ball seems to be about. Last year was an improvement under rosie but it was definitely mind numbing to watch and doesn’t look to be getting any better. I always felt like we conceded a lot of good chances which the opposition would squander but as it kept happening I assumed there must be something to it. I’m hoping this season that doesn’t begin to change as it looks like it might have. Hopefully this week has given a few people a shock they need to turn it around and change things.
If you look at the stats we were actually better defensively under McCann in 21/22 than we were in 22/23 obviously Shota played a part in that but it will be interesting to see the stats after a full season. All LR has done is converted a few losses into draws, that’s with a much better squad too. I’d argue we’d actually be much better off with McCann in charge with our current players.
I'm expecting my missus to go shopping tomorrow but if I get fish fingers for my tea on Saturday because she couldn't find anything better should I just smile and clap my hands?
Are you suggesting we sign players for motor mouth? Tuesday was an indication of how much the players respect him and his daft ideas. If you want to keep defending it crack on. Many people are realising we've been led up a garden path. Anyway, when these three signings appear and they suddenly have us playing out from the back with pace and style I will pop back on here and apologise for doubting. Until then I'm having a fish finger sandwich.
I've been playing music on youtube tonight and I came across a song that suits the Donny game well but without the fantastic six minutes guitar solo at the end.
The guitar solo is long enough for Ingram to pass the ball to one of our players, just. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Been a bit busy so missed most of this thread. I'm guessing the summary is: We're doomed, because we've played badly and lost a 1st round League Cup tie for the first time in our history. The Championship is much lower quality than expected since the following teams are doomed after losing to (or only beating on pens) lower league teams: Coventry, Cardiff, Preston, Wednesday, Sunderland, Southampton, Millwall, Watford.
.....and the tactical masterclass from McCann and his L2 players. That hopefully puts it a bit more into perspective for you.
Don't worry lads, it was only the 2nd competitive game of the season and it was only a cup game and we rotated our starting 11 and our players are still getting up to full fitness and they're still learning how LR wants them to play. Everything's going to be fine.
Ederson has clearly been watching us for tips how to play out from the back and beat the press. Ingramesque in his play.
