That remarkable game took a lot out of players, some recently injured, and doubtless a few fresh knocks too. They need max recovery before Stoke on Saturday.

    My best 2nd XI

And I wouldn’t risk Clarke, Hladky, Woolfie, Morsy, Taylor or Broadhead in this cup game.

    Slicker
    Ball
    Fridge
    Bagott
    Leigh
    Evans
    Humphreys
    Hutchinson
    Aluko
    Edwards
    Ladapo

Capt Morsy needs a rest too.

I'd probably put Taylor in there, and dop Hutchinson, and play the No. 10 role

And I am hopeful that KM can drill some sense into Harness, Jackson & Ladapo. And I would love Sone Aluko to cast his wizardry.

Good team Gaffer, although I'd keep Hdlaky in the starting eleven and either start Clarke (instead of Ball) or give him half an hour off the bench. I'd also start Taylor in place of Humphreys.

Another decent victory last night, and good to keep the wining mentality going.
Was surprised though to not see Edwards not male the squad, especially as he's supposed to be fit.
Wonder if there is more to it and he could be off?

Apparently ladapo was very wasteful again, he needs to get his act together or I can see him slipping further down the pecking order, especially if we sign another striker, which I hope we do!!!

Ladapo got us 21 goals last season - and that's with not starting half the games - and he's got an amazing attitude as a squad player. I don't get what more he could really be doing for us.

Did anyone go last night? Would be good to get opinions on how some of our new players performed..

I went last night and it was like a practice match before the subs ( Hirst, Chaplin, and Aluko ) came on to lift the funereal atmosphere, Ladapo was appalling, Jackson hopeless, and Hutchinson at present is not working at Lg1 level, but hes young and with coaching from McK and Co im sure he will improve.
As for the rest they coped with what little Rovers threw at them so not really any pointers there, but the main talking point was the absence of Edwards who would have been in his element against this opposition, moving on maybe ?

Thanks for the summary, that really bears out why I don't bother with the lesser cup games or friendlies.

I have this feeling that Ladapo and Jackson's time is running out.
Aluko goal pure class as seen on Youtube highlights.

You never know. Loads of people wrote off Donacien but he’s come out of harder times smelling of roses. Jackson is a real handful against a tired defence. The only player who brings us nothing at all and has never shown us anything at all is Harness.

Jackson has had 4 seasons and shown nothing and continued to to live down to his reputation last night, dont get me wrong theres no lack of effort on his part just a lack of ability and game intelligence.
Ladapo was slow of movement and slow of thought and put a free header over the bar from 6 yards, man of the match for me was Greg Leigh who locked down the left side and surged forward at every opportunity causing havoc down Rovers right side, but as i said earlier it was played at practice match tempo.

Strange not to see Edwards in the team for this 1. I really hope he’s not being sold as he gives us something a bit different especially as an impact sub. I know it’s only 2 games in but at present, would rather see him than Hutchinson in the squad

    I'm with you there Royston!!

As for Greg Leigh, every time I have seen him I have been impressed, quality backup for Leif
