Baath hasnt looked anywhere near so far this season. Be amazed if he is fit based on appearances. If he is last years Baath he is a nailed on starter, best defender at the club. If he isnt then perhaps we do have options.

Plus if the lad wants to move on for more certainty of playing time, it would be harsh to block his move at his age. Club treating players fairly just improves our reputation.

Yeh I think its fair to say he's one of our higher earners and we want to use his wages elsewhere. Hence bringing in lower wage but higher potential alternative in Triantis.

They're basically playing FM. Its exactly how I play that game. As soon as a player gets 28/29 I get itchy feet and want them sold whilst they still have value, before accidentally hoovering up to many youth players in the same position and then have to scramble to loan them out :D

I'm seeing them hitting the same quandaries I hit playing a computer game :D

Of course KLD has said in the past he's a massive fan of FM so perhaps this is how he plays as well. I've never seen somebody try it in real life.

Yep, think you are spot on with this mate. Shame, as a good player, but I can say with confidence if we do right by Baath on this it will reflect really well on us with players and agents in future negotiations.

If his wages are the difference in us getting a DM in who can properly protect a young back 4 would it be seen as a good move?

    That’s accurate.
That’s not. Maybe if we’d offered him something significant in terms of length of contract it may have given him food for thought but it’s by no means the driver for his departure.

I’ve said more than I’d like to, more than I should and more than I ever normally would but you know how much stock people on here put in what you say so it’s not fair to misinform or spin to support your view just because you’re having a wobble.

He’s not being sacked. He’s completing his contract. Whether he’s been told it definitely won’t be renewed is just speculation isn’t it? Even if he has that seems to just be doing the right thing by him so he can consider any offers in a properly informed way.

That's not on to be fair. I was told it all started when he wanted more security and wanted the extra year after last years performance and POTS. That wasnt on the table and that's made the other things come more to the forefront.

I wouldnt give him another year, due to his age.

I'd likely give him till January, especially to help ease Seelt in to his new surroundings. But who are we to say Batth wants to stay for x months to mentor young defenders? He wants to play and also wants job security. We cant give him that, due to his age.

I'm more concerned about O9 getting the armband and being 1st choice, but Seelt and Alese will really challenge him, once both fit. Triantis also to prove himself.

For what its worth - i know somebody who is a DoF at a club, and he was absolutely loving Seelt - thinks we have bagged a real player.

Its impossible to keep 6 centre halves, and also madness. Something has to give.

out of interest, what are we doing signing players who are not committing them and their family to live in the area ? surely it would a condition in the contract.

If we had 6 centre backs I would agree. We have 4 , soon to be 3. 09 and Alese are not traditional centre backs and shouldn't be considered there. They can fill in but yeah.

I do agree with Seelt. Has to get fit like.

Sorry like but O9 and Alese are good enough to play CH in the Champ., so they're part of the CH pool we have of soon to be 5.

I just cant see O9 being part of a 1st choice promotion 11. Good enough squad player tho.

Both can cover full backs also.

I see them more as full back than centre backs. Especially in a traditional 4 back. Got to be honest, I am extremely worried at having 09 at centre half in this 4 back with attacking fullbacks

I think alese would be great in a back 3 where he has abit license to over lap not so sure on him in a 2

O9 is fine to fill-in but loses his spot when Seelt and Alese are fit, whoever is first.

Yeah this too. If they have now decided to go back to the flat 4. It's so much different for the likes of 09 and Alese at centre back. Look at 09 on Saturday. Square and poor starting position.
