If urban myths are to be believed.........

The owner pursued Steve Coppell until he finally said yes to becoming our Manager, although he clearly didn't want the job.
The owner then also went on to undermine Coppell once he was in place by signing David James behind his back

Good point - I forgot about the Coppout disaster - there's another example

It's happened time and time again - and I can't see it changing.

He’s very careful with the words he uses, from his statement it was obvious he didn’t know and was well pissed off, I can’t say I blame him.

Spot on, and quickly, less experienced managers will put up and shut up, which in turn leaves the fan base unsure who’s making the decisions and rightly or wrongly assume the manager is part of the problem. That won’t happen with Nige. We’ll know who’s making the decisions. Maybe the truth about the present owners is now coming out.

Or was LJ under the same restrictions NP is, he wouldn’t say as he knew which side his bread was buttered on, NP isn’t so compliant, hence imo why SL is wary of him, he likes a yes man

Nige stated in an interview yesterday,he was planning to keep AS, it was nothing to do with him, it was a club decision, he was informed yesterday, he didn't know any of the details not even the price of the player,, with regard to funding he doesn't know if the club will make funds avalable for new players,he is waiting to be informed, he does not need a meeting with people to be advised of that and he finished off by saying he had no comment and nothing more to say.

What a state for a manager to be in, no facts, no information, no advice, no involvement, it is beginning to look a shambles.

Been the history under SL wasted millions and millions now he has a manager with pedigree and Knowledge that could end up backfiring on him.

I believe this is very close to the truth.
LJ was very new to management and wasn’t established or confident enough at the time to push back against what was happening.
Nige is very different and we’re seeing it in his comments.

Who’s to know, had LJ been able to have kept his best players where we would be?!
Basically we brought in another manager so we could progress, using whatever players that were left. Sounds like an impossible task of which of course it would be!!
To make a go of it, you need your best players , especially when they have had the time to gel as a team.. disrupting that, is the beginning of the end. No matter what manager you have!!

This is exactly where Ashton and the Lansdowns made their crap decision, didn't appoint an experienced manager after 4.5 years of LJ ( Young and inexperienced) but chose the cheap option Holden. (lovely guy that he was) Nige took up the challenge with his eyes open, has without doubt turned the ship around with the great leadership of Gould and we are where we are. (Being discussed)

Reported as £20m plus £5m add ons. Ashton wouldn’t have let him go that cheap. As much as i dislike the bloke.

Bournemouth reached an agreement to sign English top talent Alex Scott, here we go! Deal in place for £25m package, add-ons included #AFCB Alex Scott completed medical tests and just signed. Scott, currently injuried; he’ll be back as soon as possible.

I just feel Bournemouth is not a club that will help Scott flourish tbh. Although he is more likely to start for them than some other PL clubs

I doubt it, a sell on is separate surely as obviously they don’t know any future sale amount, if they got any sense they’d have included a hefty sell in %

I think he has undervalued himself and his future by joining B/mouth, just look at Semenyo, has not had a look in, he is joining a bottom six candidate of the Premier league, where is the ambition, another year with us and they would have been queuing up for him

I agree, even had he not started at a bigger club, would have learnt so much more..
But I don’t blame him wanting to play for a Premiership club
