Sure I just don't see him as being anything amazing (hadn't even really heard of him before), just one of a number of young English players loaned out this window. Just didn't understand what might have set him apart from the others for you other than him being the latest.
Remember last year, a Tuesday night early on in the season, Burnley were losing to one of the top teams at home & scraped a draw. Shota being hyped & Kompany being slated….
Burnley looked great already then, a few teething issues but I remember thinking thats what a good coach can do in a short space of time. Don't recall Shota being hyped, we looked awful at the start of the season, it was unbelievable we collected the points we did.
There’s a few funny moments in this one. https://www.not606.com/threads/burnley-v-hull-city.401972/page-25
I don't recall Kompany ever being slated, from their first game against Huddersfield he had entirely transformed them. Another foreign/rookie coach doing wonders..
I just scrolled through about 5-6 pages and saw no slating of Kompany, just a lot of people saying it was a well earned point.
Maybe not slating as such, but there were a few comments about them passing around at the back, which lead to them having a 78% possession. Currently, we can’t even do that.
Not that you're wrong but a lot of these I think are renewals. Good to see they're probably continuing at an increased price though
