This is quietly a really good appointment. Rasmus brought this guy in at Brentford before people were really embracing set piece coaching as a necessary specialism. He then went on to do the same role for Arteta at Arsenal. He has a great reputation for what he does. His individual development work is particularly interesting and there is a very long interview with him transcribed here: https://trainingground.guru/article...dual-coaching-set-pieces-and-assisting-arteta

Delighted to read this, defensively we have been dire at defending set pieces like corners since Ralph introduced that daft zonal marking system. Attacking wise, bearing in mind JWP delivery we don’t score many from set plays It does feel like we concede considerably more than we score from corners and non direct free kicks
I'm off to a Saints legends event this evening with MLT, SRL and James Beattie. Will update if they have any strong opinions on the SR regime!
Cracking evening. All 3 were really personable and funny. It's clear Rickie has a very strong love for the club in a way I didn't realise before. Told a story that when he found out there was a transfer offer from Liverpool the first person he called was.... MLT. Not his Parents, not his Mum and Dad, Matt. Some very interesting stories from them all about the England national team set up too.
2000 tickets for Sunderland on sale today to STH+ 4 aways. We'll do well to sell that for a 12.30 ko on Sky. Not sure why it would be the maximum though? Surely they should offer 3k. £32 a pop too.
Thankfully, yes. MLT had a bit of a pop at sky sports but other then that just Saints stuff. Beattie really funny bloke. Incredibly dry sense of humour. He thinks Lampard is a twat which is nice
In fairness Matt is within rights to have a dig at Sky. One thing he's said I completely agree with is that Sky are a tad hypocritical, saying they need to consider their brand when sacking him to which he pointed out they employ someone who spat at a child.
