… I don’t think he needed much scouting - but Steinsson may have opened a door.

He was a prospect 3 years ago - but couldn’t get in a spurs team under any manager, and not wanted by the new one. He was dropped by Rennes last year for a teenage academy player.

He’s a player whose star has fallen which is why he’s available for the championship. Let’s hope he can kickstart his career. I’m optimistic, but not (to quote DF) dancing on the tables yet.

Didn’t take much scouting but can’t see him in the Milky files either looking back <whistle>

Djed Spence you can have some credit for if you play nice :emoticon-0148-yes:

Gnonto reportedly asked to be left out of squad as he wants away. No point playing him anymore so

Who can blame him though Kev, what with him being one of the stellar young talents in world football who would be a steal at £160 million?

He says in the hope that Sheikh Abdul Abdullah or Todd Boehly believes everything they read on here too :emoticon-0148-yes:

<laugh> Wasn’t dissing your scouting bud - just pointing out you don’t need a scouting department if you’re buying British players who moved for north of £10m It’s not exactly uncovering the next messi in an u10s beach football kickabout on the copacabana

Now Djed Spence. <confused> Gotta be better than Aarons

Clutching at straws here but maybe cos he’s trying to force a move means for once there are no relegation escape clauses. If that’s the case this is the one to play hardball with

Payable over 160 million months at £1 per month, after a 12 month loan, with no obligation to buy ;)

Barcelona offering €7m upfront with another €5m over 3 years. I say a good deal for what we paid. Can invest that money in another right back or winger.

Everton offered £15m and his old club have what they describe as a “substantial” sell on clause. We need to hold out for a much larger offer, if it doesn’t arrive throw him in the reserves for the season, we need to make a stand against the players and their agents

How long are we talking about throwing these lads in reserves. It never happens and never will but it should. His agent will pick his new club for him and he’ll go for whatever they concoct between them and the agent will also get a nice chunk. We’re just not good with the contract side of things

I think you can safely bet your house he hasn’t got one of those relegation clauses in his contract or he would be long gone :emoticon-0148-yes:

I expect Gnonto, Adams, Summerville, Sinisterra, Harrison, Meslier and Drameh all to go before the end of the window which will leave us with the previous development squad and a few old hacks.
26 Players allocated squad numbers left, 6 of whom are carrying injuries, 11 of the rest are unproven even at this level.

    Darlow
    Ayling Rodon Cresswell Byram

    Poveda Gray Ampadu James

    Perkins Gelhardt

About the best we can do at the mo. Even with Bamford, Rutter back the squad as it stands is mid table at the very best.

To be fair, I wasn’t claiming any scouting talent at all, just thought coaches voice was a better way to assess what we might be getting than the Joe Rodon’s 5 finest moments video!

Having said that, I’ve seen Aaron’s play and am gutted that has fallen through :(

we’re at cross purposes here bud <cheers>

I had read that article and often read similar when we’re signing a player (or a manager) I haven’t seen much of… to get a sense of what we’re getting. I’ll then read fan sites to see what supporters think and local journo articles if I can find them on the player.

My scouting comment wasn’t aimed at you (even I’m not that hypocritical :emoticon-0105-wink:) . It was in response to comments about the clubs scouting… you don’t need a scouting department to know who Joe Rodon is and that he was available. <cheers>

I’d have said no to Drameh but just missing out on a new RB brings in a question mark about Farkes stance on him.

Summerville is out until after the transfer window shuts, I think we’re safe with him, Firpo another, and although I didn’t rate him in the PL maybe the Championship will be okay, Downside is he’s made of gingerbread.

I think we’ll see Adams and Gnonto depart, if just those two I can live with that. So far, only Wober has been painful. I’ve always felt we can lose one of Gnonto, Summerville, Harrison and Sinisterra. My choice would have been Jack or Gnonto but with Jacks ability to play central Gnonto going would be better.

If the window shuts and we still have Summerville, Sinisterra and Harrison, not to mention James and now Poveda and even Rutter, we’ll have an abundance of attacking options.

We just need to bring in those defenders, a couple of midfield replacements and a striker would be a bonus.

I think Gnonto feels painful because yesterday started off exciting with a £9m(ish) RB set to sign and a CB. The RB exited his medical which sounds astonishing and Gnonto refuses to play.

You do feel with injuries and Gnontos stance, we really need to get more than Rodon over the line this week.

Farke was upset with Gnonto as he didn’t want Ampadu playing a full back to back 90 minutes but he had little choice

Another big question, how did the Daily Mail get hold of the story so quickly, I assume Gnonto’s agent leaked it knowing that once the fans got hold of the story there would be no turning back
