I don’t think we can turn down £12m with his contract running down. Despite being to a rival, we already have our replacement through the door and the funds could be used elsewhere in the squad. I’d rather he went to the PL but take the money
The Pinkun quoted similar: "Leeds United is in pole position to sign Norwich City full back Max Aarons, with the clubs in advanced talks over a deal that could rise to £12m." Be good to get it resolved.
I'm not convinced he's better than lower PL anyway. There's a reason he attracts so much interest but no / few offers.
He is still "potential". He hasn't progresse shince his breakthrough season. In fact, I'd go as far as to say he has regressed. Possibly due to the fact that teams have sussed out that he cannot defend, so if he is pushed back, they will get joy.
Be good to get it resolved whilst there's still 3 weeks of the window left, whilst I think the club feel the squad is serviceable as is, be nice if it allows us to make more of a luxury move. Be a shame if Max doesn't get a Carrow Road send-off. He deserves it.
Looks like Aarons is going to the Cherries, ironically Stacey just left there & they were both signed from Luton. Maxi is class but he's short & doesn't usually actually deliver a cross
So Aarons does get to go to the EPL after all. We don’t have to face him in Championship games. Good luck to the lad. Now let’s use the money to strengthen the squad, if it’s at all possible.

Should be possible! If we get £12m+ for Aarons, £8m(ish) for Rashica and something for McCallum, we should be able to get a decent striker and maybe another CM or CB! Still a chamce O'dele leaves too, so we would be very light if we lost these (except perhaps Rashica)
It sounds like it's £7m in confirmed fee, then add-ons which could take it up to £12m in total. Most of those add-ons are thought to be achievable, it's not like it's £5m for a Balloon D'Or.
If Aarons had another couple of years on his contract I really wuld have tried him as a right winger for half a season, but with things haw they are, I do not worry that we are letting him go, we get good money, he probably is on a fairly high wage I would imagine and I think we have in Stacey a good replacement. I think for Max as well a move may help him to learn some more skills and help his career too.
Need to remember that these payments will be received in installments, so around £300k for Mumba, £2.3m for Aarons, similar for Rashica if he finally goes. So perhaps around £5m now and another £5m in January perhaps and £5m more to come down the line. Also, free agents don't come free, as we will have paid out for signing on agreements. For Barnes, Duffy and Stacey that's probably around £1m each and there will have been other expenses as well, like high salaries and such. Chances are that these sales have already been factored into the budget for this window but they might provide money for January if needed. Strangely, if I had to choose between Aarons and Stacey now, I'd choose Stacey for his height and crossing ability, as Dunc says, but also because he's a better defender IMO.
They could have, but not necessarily. Galatasary's policy appears to be to have a minimum of 3 players for each position. Currently 3 LWs and 3 RWs are named in their squad, but Tete is not one of the RWs. Presumably Tete will replace, or demote, one of those current three. In the case of LWs, one of those named is a 19 yro, newly promoted from their U19s. My guess would be that they are likely still interested in signing Rashica, at the right price.
I took a look at a Bournemouth forum; they are mostly excited to get Aarons (if it goes thru). After 5 years of NCFC and England Youth International, a change of scenery will probably do him good. I thought that Pritchard driving all the way to London to sign with somebody (?) then getting a call from A.N. and turning around to drive to Norwich was funny. But, leaving Leeds during a medical to go to Cherries is hilarious.
Didn't Ryan Bennett nearly sign for Swansea (or maybe Cardiff) and turn the car around to come to Norwich?
I have no memory of that but did find this: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/16838621 He was headed for Swansea for talks, then got a call to turn around.
