A lighthearted attempt to move the misery away from what we are witnessing from our performances. Some phrases I hear really make me grate my teeth. Can anyone add to these? thinking outside the box the best version of themselves elephant in the room they gave everything
He’s done fantastically well. He’s either done fantastically or he’s done well. Using a superlative to describe a mundane.
[1] People who say food is "moreish" [2] The use of the suffix "-gate" to describe every scandal since Watergate [3] Saying people are a "denier" of something (sorry Strolls) as it originated from Holocaust Denier so feels a tad unpleasant to apply it elsewhere [4] He was entitled to go down [5] Footballers constantly saying they will "hopefully" do well for their new club [6] Teenage girls that use "like" in between just about every other word (as my daughter does) [7] "When he walked in the room I literally died!" [8] "A bad day at the office" [9] "Early doors" [10] "Setting out your stall" [11] "I'm not sucking that it's infected!"
