May we wish the non sheep sha*** the very best of luck in the Euro`s next year.....may we.....well may we?
An old discussion, but I for one will support both England and Republic of Ireland in the Euro's. Many will argue against but I always take the side of a British team v. Johnny Foreigner, whether it be a club or country. Okay the Republic aren't really British but you know what I mean. Their players mostly play in UK leagues so that is good enough for me. England and the Republic could be drawn in the same group (England in pool2 and Republic in pool 4). That would be interesting?
I've no problem with the English team and wish them well but the thought of the BBC & Sky repeats for 50 odd years (like '66)
Not really a problem with "Team England" ................but it's the media that pisses me off, one half way decent result, then they are a team of worldbeaters..........one "unexpected" defeat, and the whole of the UK is supposed to go into mourning............England are a middle ranking side in world footballing terms, if they underperform, well they fail to qualify for the finals of a tournament............if they perform to their potential.........well they should qualify for the second stages of a tournament finals, they are going to have to perform out of their skins to win anything. England, the best of the home nations. definitely, world beaters definitely not............the genuine England football fans realise this........so why do the media continue with this bullshit?
i presume you havnt read the papers this week then... they all acknowledge that they are not better than spain and for once are not getting carried away. after the poor performance in south africa i actually believe that many fans will keep this restraint of expectations going!
