I'm not privy to anything since his injury, all I know is if he hadn't been injured the club were expecting him to sign, I
I'm not privy to any details since his injury but the club were sure he was about to sign until he was injured, however they couldn't allow him to sign it due to the severity of the injury. I don't think anyone will sign him in this window till he's proved his fitness, if he cones back fully fit the offer he was prepared to sign will still be on the table.
The problem will lie with how he feels about the club putting it on hold due to his injury and we all know his agent will be in his ear telling him the club have treated him badly trying to push a move to line his own pickets as he was the problem delaying the new contract in the first place

Coventry and Boro were both in the relegation zone in October last year. Yesterday was disappointing but lets keep calm. We played decent enough first half and will improve.

Imagine if that happens this season, we'll have that many meltdowns there'll just be a smoking crater where Sunderland used to be!

Four corners in the first ten minutes and never threatened ...

... just like the Royal Mail, we need to improve our deliveries..

When did we last score from a corner? Aren’t we on a run of well over 100 since our last goal?

    Love the positivity here guys.

Here's some more dececnt stats from last season.

I might not be 100% on these claims, but if you remember, we drew 0-0 with Burnley at their place. It was the first time they hadn't scored at home, some pundit said.

And, that pundit also said, if you omit that match, Sunderland have scored in over 20 consecutive games without their main striker.

Which we also did again yesterday...:emoticon-0148-yes:

from what i remember, best crosses into the box came from gooch, pritchard and onien...two of them came on after the main target came off and the other one was a defender, i know which changes i would like to see, with the players currently available.

Don't think one person (haven't read every post mind) is saying there is a crisis, we need to panic everything is doom and gloom. Just a handful are pointing out that given the amount of time we have clearly needed a striker, all we have is a couple of trainee's ....I for one, think we played some great football yesterday, some of our one touch stuff in the first half was outstanding. All it did, was highlight the need for a striker who chases down lost causes, gets in good positions, takes a risk, harasses defenders etc...something our kids don't have in their lockers right now....Yesterday was not a total tragedy, it merely shows what we need, and its been needed since January this year.

I have been thinking about Hemir today as I thought he looked really raw yesterday, and maybe a bit overwhelmed by the occassion. One observation I would make on reflection is how well marshalled Robert and Clarke were. The two wing backs for Ipswich looked very good to me and had both Roberts and Clarke in two minds about playing too high. I am sure that will have been discussed before the game based on the stats those 2 wing backs had last year. When Clarke and Roberts did run at them a centre back was able to come out and double up so it was a real challenge to get quality in to the box for Hemir. He hasnt learned enough yet to be able to cope with that I suspect, but still think there is a player there. If, like Mowbray wants, he can be rotated there will be games when the opposition are more suited for him. It might also be a sign of what is to come for Clarke and Roberts too as every team will earmark those as our primary attacking threat. All puzzles coaches get paid top dollar to solve, and players to overcome.

Made the point yesterday - if a player is doubled up on, then it means another player is free. We have to get better and finding these players without a marker and/or creating space
