From what I’ve seen of the football today on Sky, we look so far behind the other teams in terms of fitness levels and intensity. Too many of our key players looked sluggish and knackered. Vinagre, Traoré, Christie and Seri in particular don’t look any fitter or sharper than they did in pre-season.
I’m looking at the fixtures we have for August and September and I’m struggling to see where we’ll pick up any wins, except maybe Sheffield Wednesday.
I went to Bunker Hill a couple of months ago. Worth it if you’re in Boston, although a bit slopey for a pitch.
thats what I don’t understand…LR has made such a big deal about fitness & energy all coming from having the right pre season….and then in our first game we look flat, unfit & struggling
I've watched all the games today and I agree totally. More importantly, even the teams playing out from the back, the transition to attack has been pacey, even bloody Cardiff...!!... Next weekend will tell us A LOT!!!
Thing is, City have form for giving to the needy so what are the odds Sheff Wednesday turn up and win 1-0? If we don’t beat them, I don’t see who out of the teams we play in the first two months of the season we get a win from. All six teams that played today look so far ahead of us in terms of fitness and sharpness.
How so, what happened to all the pre season games that were all about fitness only? Please don’t tell me not only the results and performance werent important but now we aren’t fit!!!! Heaven forbid some of us bedwetters might have seen this coming….yes us bedwetters that were put in a corner and told we couldn’t have an opinion cos LR said all was good
No. Reply to Kalman's "what are the odds Sheff Wednesday turn up and win 1-0?" = "highly likely I would say" Keep up Pete If you knew me, the one thing I'd never say is a win for City is highly likely!
Teams in Turkey seem to play at a slower/less intense pace and the rest of the games in the pre season apart from Nantes were against teams that were never going to run us ragged and not stretch us technically. Asking players to only play either first or second half is not going to stretch them physically.
