I had 20 quid @ 5/2 on the Wurzels drawing against Preston yesterday and got a £70 return for my troubles - I did post the bet on their matchday thread, :emoticon-0105-wink:

So today I thought I'd go for a longshot. I had an odd £23 that I'd tucked away in my account so I stuck it on City winning the game @ 6/1.

Am I glad for B365's early payout policy if your club goes 2 goals up - £161 kerchink - £161........<laugh>

I read somewhere yesterday that someone had bid £7m for O'Brien and Forest said no.

And they looking to loan him maybe? We could be in the frame then.

I think it was actually £10M and Sheffield Utd had asked Forest the question.

Just watched the game as I’ve been out for my birthday. 73 not out!

I was really impressed by our shape today, especially in the first half. Okay we got the run around in the second half and I was gutted with that late equaliser. Would definitely have taken a point before the game.

Overall it was an impressive first outing and I hope we have four points in the bag this time next Saturday.

    Leeds MOTM.jpg
Mentioned it yesterday but McGuinness was my MOTM. Led from the back superbly and got many crucial blocks in when needed.

Bowler did really well too but understandably faded during the second half and O'Dowda defensively was excellent (similar to McGuinness) but sadly wasn't as effective/composed going forward as much as he normally would be. Big shout out to Jak Alnwick too, he had a very solid game TBF.

Pretty much every player put a shift in and I'd say the only disappointing shows were from Grant who just couldn't seem to get into the game and I'd say Rhino, Meite & Etete didn't do enough for my liking when coming on. All tried hard but just didn't impact the game enough or show the composure/maturity to help kill the game off by making the ball stick up top to buy as some relief from the 2nd half onslaught we faced. Hopefully as per Bulut's post match comments some of that is just down to still having to settle in/get up to speed (certainly for Meite anyhow).
Conversely I'd say Adams looked ok when he replaced Ralls but just doesn't quite have the same composure as Ralls on the ball.

Overall a good point and a little disappointing it wasn't all 3 just because of the position we were in and the timing/nature of the equaliser but based on the way the game went a fair result I reckon.

    Onwards and upwards <cheers>

The team playing away to Leeds with a 2 goal half time lead and leading 2-1 very late into injury time deserved to win. Leeds got lucky with a blocked shot that fell kindly for them. The reaction from their players and ours shows this, they got real lucky.

Excellent write up Brizzle and I agree with all of it.
Reluctantly, I have to acknowledge that Leeds, their histrionics aside, played really well in the second half. Swift and accurate moving forward, they're going to cause quite a few problems for most teams this season. Thank goodness they have a bit of a weakness at the back. But hey, I shouldn't be concentrating on them after the heroic rear guard action by us in the second half.
As you say, lots to take from the game.

Steady on there Chas Dickens - surely a tale of two cities would be more apt?? Still, It's a long voyage and with some luck maybe the top two spots can be hunted down?
