What an amazing series. What an amazing sport. Fairytale ending for Broad. Complete turnaround from England after the disgrace that was Carey's stumping of Bairstow. Cummins left holding onto a trophy that somebody else won for him. And if it hadn't been for the rain, he wouldn't even have had that. Amazing stuff. I'm only sorry we've got to wait another two years to have another go at them.
You give Australia more credit that they were due, they won the first two games by fine margins and yes because England didn't take catches they should have and a tactical error by Stokes, but Australia were by no means in full control at any time, Cummins was at times confused in his captaincy and Smith played his part in this by seemingly being the on-field captain at times. Manchester was the pivotal match because it made the draw the only result England could achieve, I was at the match and England were dominant, all the Aussies in my hotel on day three were praying for the rain to come and kill the game as forecasted as they knew given time on the last two days England were going to win. It has been a great test series and one to remember for a long time, the Aussies have still not won a test series in England for 20 odd years.
