Whilst Pritchard is decent player i can honestly say i wouldn't be upset if he left as i think we would be better giving the young lads more game time

One of the three is likely to be in form at any one time. If they’re not then potentially we go more obviously two up front. ( when we’ve brought another striker in!)

Clubs used to hold Sunderland to ransom and players had to be bribed to come here, then they'd not be motivated and just go through through the motions ... I'd absolutely hate to go back to those times.

We now have a wage structure that makes it easier to negotiate imo. If clubs know we won't go over a figure we've stated they won't try to do a 'Grigg' on us.

The trouble with making exceptions is that it quickly becomes the rule.

I'd be sad to see Pritchard go personally, particularly now we have a centre forward for him to work around.

I think Pritchard like Stewart is expendable , if they want to go, and the club are happy to let them go so be it.

I would too. Still yet to see another player be able to play the 10 as well as him. His free kick the other day was just class too.

Pritchard, for my money, is still a very good championship footballer. If he is off it will to play week in week out, but he will need to find a manager who loves him. He is a player that has a clear view on how to play and will do that on the pitch.

I think he brings more to the team than goals and assists stats personally. Having said that when he had Stewart to pick out he could do it, same sith Hemir in pre season. His ratting around deep lying midfielders is massive for us. He is often the player that plays the pass that leads to the assist. He is a leader on the park as well. I think there will be plenty of games this season when I would want him in the 11. Watching Southampton last night Smallbone had a cigar out because Sheff Wed didnt want to press him when receiving from the back 4. Pritchard would have smothered him. The flip side is Rigg simply has to play a significant amount of games for me and he has to play as a 10. When you have a porshce it needs to be on the road and being driven for fun. Not yet sure on Jobe personally, not absolutely convinced by him as an attack minded player, but another who needs to play to progress. Dack is here to be the mentor for these lads, but will also expect to play. There comes a point where a bit of squad rebalancing is needed and we really do need cover for Neil because an injury there and we will struggle to dominate games and the ball. If Pritchard does move on I think he will be a miss on a matchday, but will understand the rationale from both sides.

Pritchard is still quality he can be a game changer for us and really help us take control of a game, would be a mistake to let him go imo.

This for me as well. I don’t see the same quality yet in the 3 lads that are supposed to be ahead of him now. It’s not just his dead ball quality that we’ll miss, his pressing has also been essential to us when he’s on the pitch. I’ll be sad to see him go and I think it’s a mistake.

I come back to the point we can only have so many players. Dack, Rigg, Jobe, Embleton, Pritchard and Ba are more or less all competing for the same place in the team.

I think Pritchard is quality but out of all of those him and Embo are the most expendable, considering Dack and Jobe have just been signed.

I also think people need to step away from the idea that selling players means we are “getting rid” of them. It’s all just language I know, but it’s not like the old days where we moved players on because they were crap. We are now outgrowing players and it means players that are good and have been valuable for us will be moved on.

Personally I’d have kept Pritchard and not signed Dack. But I’d love Dack to prove me wrong. And as I’ve said all along, I full back Mowbray and Speakman on their decisions. And if there is any hint of Pritchard wanting to move then it’s definitely the right approach.

I see your point but equally you can't mention Dack, Rigg and Jobe and then say that they will be able to compete for 90 minutes either. Dack has been/is a injury prone player. Jobe 17 ,like Rigg 16/17 will not complete a full season playing week in week out. That is before or without any injuries they will also pick up...Pritch can be irritating at time but the amount of game he changed when he came on last season would suggest he is still a vital part of the squad.

Aye but can we carry 4 in that position? Considering worst case scenario we could play Jewi/Roberts/Clarke there as well. I’m guessing his salary is decent.

Season long loan with no recall is supposed to be what we're asking for.

Rennes would prefer a recall clause but the Simms situation didn't go down too well.

That's from a mate at Riviera Radio who tries to find stuff out for me.

Playing time will be the determining factor as to where he ends up according to that. Can we offer/guarantee that over the others with Hemir and eventually Stewart, Mayenda and potentially one more to accommodate too?

    Is this a

Edit: must have been replying and changed my mind
If there is a position most difficult to get your first team start it has to be gk. Don't get subbed during the match unless injured, get injured less often and there is only one spot available!

So going to Chelsea lowers that even more, out of all the clubs in the Premier league I think they the worst choice the lad could have made in terms of the chance of ever playing before they sell!
