The tour guide did mention it! After the blind tasting when the Kent wine beat the French they hastily arranged a replay- same result. They make some lovely wines, we had 6 glasses of different wines, ending with the super-expensive stuff. AlI can say is Wow!!
Terrific young striker Patrick Casey has at last signed a pro contract. Only goalie Kone left to tie up now of our outstanding prospects.
Long Live the Shakers! Were 1st Division giants when Charlton Athletic first went professional in 1920.
Something happened today that has restored a little of my faith in Human nature. Three weeks ago the Blackwall Tunnel was closed Southbound for roadworks, forcing me to make a 40 mile detour across the Dartford Bridge to visit my old mum in Charlton (I travel there every Saturday from where I'm currently living in West London). I forgot to pay the Dart Charge (£2.50) that day, which you can only pay online as there are no actual toll booths. So I had to wait for a penalty charge notice to be posted to me. Once the payment window expires you cannot pay the penalty until they send you a letter with a unique payment code on it. Got the letter today and went online. Punched in the code, and discovered I was not being charged the £35 penalty. I only had to pay the original £2.50 The Dart Charge website did not explain why, but I assume the authorities have waived penalty charges for traffic that used the Dartford Bridge on the day that the Blackwall Tunnel was closed. They must have noticed a significant upsurge in bridge traffic that day. The website made it clear that my £2.50 included the penalty charge (which was in effect, £0). I screencapped it of course. If there was a conscious decision to waive the penalty charge for that day, then it was a considerate and thoughtful thing to do. I know I should have remembered to pay the charge on time. But I won't forget this small act of common sense and sympathy.
Good news on the medical front... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-66394117 I read once that Malaria is considered the likely biggest killer in Human history.
It's been a perfect summer for English vineyards, especially if we get a bit of sun over August and September. It's all been falling into place. I don't know why it's still so expensive though.
More global warming benefits. We still need slightly higher temperatures though, to increase yields and bring the prices down. Get out in those Chelsea Tractors.
England beat Australia 3-1. It's a world cup final on sunday!! Spain will be a tricky proposition, but so will we. GO LIONESSES!!
