Holden has inherited several players who aren't good enough, Kirk, McGrandles, Payne, DJ, but who we are paying such a good wedge that they ain't for moving to a club which pays them less. Not to mention Aneke, who we'd all love to see fit but don't expect to, and you've got a fairly hefty wage bill going to non-productive employees. No club will offer to match their wages, and we won't be making any more decent signings until the wage bill is cut accordingly, so we're going to be relying on our Academy products to come good over the season. I hope the fans don't turn on Holden, because changing manager again is unlikely to help, probably make things worse.

It's shaping up to look like last season, but maybe without the revival over the last few months.
Talk of marquee signings and crowd-pleasers?
    We've heard it all before.
If Charlton are wallowing around 15th in the new year I wouldn't be surprised if Holden gets sacked, but that won't fix anything.

Seems we've been strung along again by yet another bunch of liars and spivs.
Plenty of us saw it coming this time, for what little that is worth.

I still think there’s a player inside Kirk, the others I agree with <cheers>

There's a player there alright, I watched his warm-up at one game, he went through a terrific repertoire of tricks, but there's something missing. Aggression maybe, or competitive edge. If he gets another chance he needs to show some sort of hunger to win.

I think the move not long after his dad passing wasn’t a good idea , I feel under Holden he may show his true worth

That would be like signing a new player.

Hector is a huge disappointment. Apart from him we've only got kids as CB's and a lot depends on him but he hasn't stepped up.

Jack Payne gone to Milton Keynes on a season-long loan. I thought he was a good man to have on the bench, there are others who need to go if anyone would pay the wedge they're on now.

I keep seeing from the club that we need to move others out in order to bring people in. Why is that? We have a pretty thin squad with the injuries, and we've moved quite a few players out already this year. We are currently playing too many youth players - they are getting up to speed and we have a huge wave of promising youngsters, but I see no way we will go very far this season of we try and do it as a young team. We need some experience in there, and as has been said already, Hector has proved to be a huge disappointment there. He should be a key memebr of the defence rallying the youngsters but he looks disinterested more than anything else. Really looks as if it will be another sterile season, and as the window begins to close and we have no manager, there will be a lot of questions raised soon.

At the moment we have someone with the stature of Solly (Alfie May) and May seems to have a bit of spirit about him.

Good thing we do have him.
We'd be in the bottom 4 now if he wasn't around.
Only hope Miles Leaburn can stay fit.

We need a Pearce or a Bauer in the middle of defence, a stopper who is there purely to defend.
