As much as I admire our transfer strategy, I only think it works if we have a cut-off date in mind with regard to selling and then replacing a player. If we let it run to the last week then our top targets may well have already moved on and we will be left to over pay for whoever is left.

Not saying he's injured. But match fitness takes a long time after a year out. Seeing as we have KWP and Bree, we can afford to let Tino take as long as he needs.

Half a good season, lots of niggly injuries suggesting he can’t play a full one and then out for far more than a year (longer than recovery times have become recently from this type of injury) And it doesn’t seem to be that good a move for him unless trippier is becoming their left back. Their first 2 bids were below £20m so not necessarily. I think if they did offer something huge like £35-£40m then we should sell for the reasons you have stated. But as we have to give a sell-on to Chelsea, anything less and we may as well keep hold of him.
