This is true…. I wonder if it ever enters their minds to try the less popular option….. I’d argue (on the little that I know) that the experience in the Championship would be harder and he’d learn more…. But I guess we’ll never know…

Depends on JWPs mindset. If we think he would still give it everything then I'd keep him unless we get the £40m we have stated. But if it seems as if he will try and force the move and not want to be here then £35m is a decent figure.
Thing I've leaned about the Saints social media team is that I don't believe in coincidences when they release stuff like this.
I don't believe that JWPs attitude would ever be anything but professional If he has strong reasons to want to make a particular move, he can express those to the club and they might take those into account given his long service, but he knows they have to look after SFCs interests He may want to play in the EPL, but he probably won't get any more money and it must be influenced by whether he thinks he can play for England again I believe that ship has sailed now
A season totally dominating weaker opposition could make JWP. And if you have the mindset you should be playing for England, you have to believe you can dominate in the Championship.
Pretty weird way of doing things to threaten to walk away and then put in another bid shortly after. And then threaten to walk away again but still be keen to do the deal. The threats don't really have the gravitas that they are probably supposed to.
