Quite possibly the worst captain decision I've witnessed

Lucas Leiva... Apparently doing ambassador duty for Liverpool at the moment. Put some boots on him and make him the captain he always deserved to be.

Surprised TAA but players and staff know each other way more than we do.

Nice to have a home grown lad though.

VVD was obvious choice so no arguments there.

I think the local lad angle and his age might help in this regard.

alisson is too quiet and nice and in the wrong position.

salah will be off in a week to Saudi anyway.

robbo imo is too much of a character off the park.

I can see trent handing out fine and cutting the grass with a scissors shortly.

seriously though most of the younger players will identify with the local legend but he's got to take it seriously cos now he's the next next Gerrard.

Thats exactly why i wanted him to have it.

More responsibility now for trent and i think the chances are good that he will act accordingly on and off the pitch.

Im also hoping for a raise in performance too:bandit:

Maybe giving Trent the responsibility will give him a boost and lead by example in his efforts, much like when Gerrard got it

    Happy with these choices.

VVD was a no brainier - we finally have a captain who has the presence, looks the part and commands respect.

Trent is the future of LFC so it makes sense to start grooming into this role

Virgil spoke about the 'leadership team' so maybe Robbo is vice vice ...... baby.

I have a feeling that Robbo’s role in the team will soon become more limited once we sign a new LCB. That could have played a part in the decision

Can’t see us signing one any time soon. Much more pressing issues to solve first

It'd be like signing another left winger

Joyce mentioned that we’re after a defender, which I would argue is just as important because only konate and VVD are suited to this new system.

yeah a centre half or right full even.

to buy a specialist lb would be utter folly given what we need to lay hands on right now.

matip is next out the door

A Scouse captain in the waiting. As somebody born and brought up in Finch Lane, this is even closer to me than Stevie G in Huyton. Filling up... :emoticon-0111-blush
