That is awful news. Exchanged several PMs with him over the years and he always seemed like a genuinely nice guy. RIP Kemps - will miss you on this board.
He did the same for me when my Dad passed away too and I've not forgotten it. Was such a nice gesture and positive impact from someone I've never met either.
Awful news As others also have experienced, Kempton wrote me a PM after my mother passed, giving me some advice, sharing how he felt in a similar situation. He also enjoyed rubbing it in whenever England were doing good/Sweden struggled (quite often that is, at least the latter) Rest in peace Rich Vila i frid
Awful, very sad news, RIP Kempton, one of our own. Once a tiger, always a tiger. As a relatively new poster, I didn’t really know Kemps but like others have said, felt that I did know him, welcoming, funny, always caring of others. Sincere condolences to his family. RIP Kempton
Ah that’s terrible news. I feel pretty guilty for just seeing this now. Kemps contacted me by DM when I was knocked off my bike. Never knew him other than online exchanges. He seemed such a kind hearted soul and he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Kempton and thank you for your kindness and reaching out. Demonstrated by the number of posters who have been contacted by Kemps in the past offering help or support. I won’t forget.
Rich (Kempton) thought a lot of you all and this forum. He was especially appreciative of your support when he was going through a tough time a few months back. It comforts me (but does not surprise me) to know that he was well loved and respected by everyone. Rich was not only a close family friend, but a great friend to me. He was a kind, extremely funny man who had the right values. I was also lucky enough to work with him for a while and will treasure every funny moment we shared. As I’m sure you can guess if you didn’t know, Rich was very quick-witted. But he would also deliver his responses with a deadpan expression. And maintain this for a good while. One of my favourite stories of his (but I weren’t there at the time) was when he was approached by his boss (Paul) who would often ask him to do different tasks on top of his usual role… “Rich, do you want a **** job?” “No thanks Paul, I’ve already got one.” Thank you all for helping him and offering your support. He really was the kindest soul. Rest in peace mate x
