I think my worry is that it is difficult as a goalkeeper (I know as I have been in the situation) to have little chats with the ref throughout the game - manage him if you like An outfield player (Deeney did this well imho) can ‘discuss’ decisions or point things out far easier throughout the game than a keeper can
Well he managed to get booked 5 times and sent off once so must have managed to catch the refs eye ! Hence the vice captains announced but rather lost in the statement.
