Personally don't want Jobe as a 10 either. Recieves it well and good work rate but doesn't seem to have that natural ability that scans the full picture and releases early. Think he should play deeper.
Doesn't seem to playing as proper 10 from what I've seen, more part of a midfield 3 but with a bit more freedom to stay forward
A blues fan I know said that the reason Jobe and his dad wanted him to leave is because they demanded he started more and Birmingham said no. I don't for one second think our lot would play him just because he asked to.... but I personally also agree he'd be behind Pritchard for sure for me. Maybe Dack as well.
The lad who scored is 6ft 4, scored 15 goals in La Liga last season. He also scored 3 against Northern Ireland last season (so likely against Ballard) and against England at Wembley a couple of years ago. He's an elite forward compared to anything O'Nien will see in the Championship.
Back to playing with the striker. These have stepped it up massively second half. Look a really solid side and a good test for us. Top half la Liga these ain't they ?
It's pre-season so could be as simple as Mowbray wanting Ballard in cotton wool until next week rather than thinking O'Nien is the better bet. Think its the same for Hemir. I expect Clarke and/or Roberts to go off soon for same reason.
