Trying to think if we had any good times with Leeds in 2023 and basically this calendar year it’s been one crisis after another. Team collapsing, board scrambling about trying to lure world class managers who all said fook off. We then use an academy coach for a few games until we can find someone out of work. The new guy fails dismally and then we scrape a new low bringing in an old fat lad and his 2 drinking partners. We get relegated and our owner hasn’t done a deal to sell the club if relegated and on top of that the owner buys another club and thinks about using ER as collateral. The deal finally happens but then a 4 year wait for ratification just in case we are money laundering and all the while Saudi Arabian pub teams are spending billions on buying out footballers. Money laundering? Nah not them but maybe Leeds. We then lose £100m pounds worth of players who can leave on loan and all we have left is 30 odd wingers because you can never have enough wingers and some old lads who need a Stana lift. A week to go and school team look like representing us in the championship. Should get better soon though because apparently we are going to win the league

Year old keepers arrival is no imminent to push up our average age by at least one year. Add that to cooper ayling and byram and we’re ageing nicely

You need a bit of experience in the Championship. A strong spine to the side is essential and plenty of leaders.

I'd like a dependable centre half and a solid striker. Then we'd have a strong spine of...

    Darlow
    Cooper/new defender
    Adams/Ampadu
    New striker

Of course we need a left back and a 10 too but that spine through the team looks OK with a decent striker. Cresswell has good leadership qualities too.

Look at all those empty seats… no wonder I could get 9 tickets for a game 4 years ago. Stadium expansion?

The story that came out early yesterday seems to have lots of legs now, with confirmation from insider according to the YEP. Tyler Adams has a relegation release clause for £20m but it’s cash up front, no loan clause. I hope the 49ers have convinced him to stay but if not at least we get cash this time. This also allows Leeds to negotiate a higher price by agreeing to staged payment terms with the club Adams agrees to join…

Ampadu and Darlow seem to be top signings for this level. Some things we are getting right.

Why rest weren’t signed on similar contracts is a complete mystery and frankly there was something fishy with the contracts being bandied about. Fishy mightn’t be strong enough a term either. However at least we’d get enough cash for Adam’s to cover final payments outstanding on his initial purchase so that’s one less we lose our shirts on

    1) Rutter - £35m of talent waiting to be uncorked, Farke is hopefully the man to bring out the best in him

    2) Sinisterra - Probably the most skilled attacker in the division

    3) Ampadu a class signing

    4) Drameh two consecutive years being one if not the best RB in the championship

    5) Byram looked quality at LB against Forest we can have him for free

    6) Poveda form is a is huge unexpected bonus. If we’d just signed him for £3m we’d be raving about what preseason has shown

    7) Gnonto quite possibly the second best attacker in the division

    8) Darlow one of the best Championship keepers, watch some of his games for Hull

    9) Dan James off the bench against a tired defence, that will reap rewards

    10) Early doors but Farke is seemingly getting the best out of a few we’d given up hope on

    11) We’ve got both youth and experience in depth despite the departures, Ayling, Cooper, Struijk, Dallas, Greenwood, Gray, Joseph and so far, Jack nor Adams are fit to leave

    12) We know we have more signings to come.

Each week on a game for game basis, look at the opposition 11 and see if you’d swap more than 4 of their players for ours.

Ristac doing a fine job today of rallying the troops and in fairness nothing wrong with what he posted. My problem though is that I worry about Poveda head as he has never played 6 games in a row where he stood out as his form has always been erratic, so a big gamble. Sinisterra if he stays will be massive but also a massive loss if he goes, same with Adams and Byram is injury prone as his record shows :emoticon-0148-yes:
