Hopefully! But in all honesty I don't know who the other club is and until LR spilled the beans tonight, I'd only heard it from one source and they'd asked me to keep it to myself.
He's starting to remind me a little of Phil Parkinson when he first came to us and how he thought about himself/his methods/philosophy and how he conducted himself.
For what it's worth, some of his comments are puzzling at times but we are not privy to how much clout he's got in this set up as a whole? Is he being kept in the dark himself,is he targeting signings or is his boss,is he being instructed in what or what not to say? It's a bit early (IMO) to start ushering him out of the door without seeing what he can achieve on the pitch in the first 15-20 games, maybe he'll surprise us,maybe he won't,maybe we'll all be calling for his head if things don't go well? But hypothetically, who would you replace him with?
I dont disagree mate, that was my whole point. We are not a good sell and with a rookie manager who appears to talk too much even less so. Recent good signings were predominantly because of Steve Bruce, our league position or getting lucky with players that had few other options (Christie springs to mind). We have always been a club that is handicapped by its location, its the arse end of nowhere in the minds of a lot of players.
There's a fine line between being focussed, imposing standards - and being a rigid, egotistical disciplinarian and destroying the environment. I guess that is what comes from experience.
Would everyone view how he comes across so highly if he wasn’t an ex player for us? I’m not sure… Desperate for him to succeed just think the way he sets us up won’t challenge at the top because of how limited we are in the final third. Whether that’s down to quality or how we play is what will become known around 10 games in like HT says
Someone on the FB site is wittering about Oscar and Allahyar being injured. Anyone know anything? Oscar's is his ankle and he won't be fit for Norwich allegedly
Liam mentioned it in his interview, same with Simons. Sounded like precautions though and didn’t mention Norwich
I'd say given this forward options will likely be the last in, then it should be 10 games after the window shuts unless we're really in the mire by then - which we won't be.
Yep, I sort of get that too. Have done from the start. Self confidence is necessary but it's sort of like behind the humble facade there's an arrogance that he hasn't yet earned the right to have. -> He’s a waffler. Served up some of the most boring football I’ve watched in my time and then everyone is convinced it was good based on what he says afterwards. Nothing on that particular interview individually just doesn’t come across well to me. Very amateur to me still. Tend to agree, but to me, not so much 'amateur' as naive, inexperienced. Hopefully he has us eating our words (but I remain far from convinced).
Good lord we have a thing for over analysing interviews as a fanbase. I can recall us doing it with every manager right back to Peter Taylor. Even Steve Bruce got his fair bit of stick. In some cases I get it because managers like McCann (who rubbed some people the wrong way) and Shota (who couldn't get his message across) but with people like Rosenior they're just giving fluff answers to media to not give too much away. He literally has criticised the performance tonight and I can recall him doing it in the past at games like Norwich away and Rotherham at home. Rosenior said Oscar has done is ankle and Allayhar tweaked his hammy but didn't specify how long they're out for
