yeah but we are ****ed anyway so roll the dice.

200mil would go a long way ro resolve issued in defence and midfield and leave a chunk for a 5th choice forward ;)

    seriously though.

    40 for fabinho
10 or 15 for thaigo (we will be lucky)
    12 for Henderson
    200 for salah

    you'd get 5 Lavia's for that <laugh>

we need a cb and a cm right now so why not.

    it worked OK with coutinho

So the top three search results for - Lavia Liverpool - tell me that Southampton have rejected an opening bid of £37m, £35m and £40m. Which one was it do you think? It's sounding very much like the AMA bids we put in with the reported amounts decreasing daily until the real fee was announced.

£37 is the figure most people are quoting, counter offer by Southampton unknown allegedly. Hopefully will agree on a price as personal terms already agreed, allegedly.

it's in only one groups interest to be leaking. that's Southampton.

they are setting an expectation for other clubs and they want 50m fine whatever, move on if it doesn't suit.

all those fees can be complete rubbish and of course it can be complete rubbish that a bid even went in.

there.might well be talks who knows. but if they are talking then it's a fair chance they are talking round numbers and not faxing in crap.

Salah wasn't his best last year, but still top scorer so sad to see him go...

... But let's face it, we're going to have to adapt to getting goals elsewhere soon anyway. He's on that downward slide. He can probably still have a handful of good seasons before being put out to pasture, but a mult-hundred million pound offer would help us adapt to life post Salah than him retiring on a free once his current contract ends... And he probably won't be useful to the end of his contract either and be a massive wage expense for no return in the end.

I would absolutely sell him if SA are stupid enough to offer £150, £200+ million.

They're probably all three the same value. Probably with some "small fees" not included in the £35 and rounded up in the case of £40mill.

Yeah but I might have been in a minority but I never thought Coutinho was that crucial to our set-up. Good player, but nowhere near as good as some were making out.
Even a misfiring Mo gets goals and losing him would leave us with a goal-scoring gap to fill, and even 5 Lavias won't address that.
I'd have let him go last season for a Pharaoh's ransom, but I think we've lost enough of the established players already this time around.

Ones prob been initially reported in euros that someone else has then converted into pounds using 1 exchange rate compared to another etc.

Tbh, if we’re going to bud 40m we might as wel bid 50. £10m over 5 year contract isn’t an awful lot. Get JH to put it on red in casino and win that in a night to pay it off

What a silly suggestion, surely JH wouldn't be so reckless to gamble Liverpool's money like that.

Everyone knows you always bet on black.

Just dont think £50m is right for a kid with one season behind him. Sure, if he goes somewhere else or has a worldie next season and becomes a £100m player we'll look mugs, but good then for Southampton.

The difference with Virgil is that he was the best CH in the word and was proven - we missed a trick when Celtic were trying to sell him to for £15m, I know. So maybe were scared of that happening again. We paid Soton what they asked for in Mane, and he was obviously worth it. But Christ, they saw us coming when we got Lovren... :emoticon-0104-surpr

Was vvd best in the world? Don’t think he was that highly thought of. A very good player but think he’ll of a lot of people thought we’d massively overspent

No, he was. Us and City went in for him. They said afterwards they pulled out becase the price went over £60m, but considering they spent £250m on four full backs Id take that with a pinch of salt

there's not a person with eyes and half a brain that didn't know he was head and shoulders above anything anywhere.

mane was left behind by utd the year before so we got a discount of anything.

moving him to the left and pairing him with 2 others made him sky rocket.

Trust me. even if lavia fires Southampton to the championship title it's so what.

put quality round him and if he shines then he is another massive error by city.

the risk is if he will actually shine with our team round him.

everyone who's seen Southampton or are a Southampton side say he's head and shoulders over the rest of their lot.

I still think we need more flexibility but it could be that we see bajceitc as the flexible player

I think some of the Lavia appeal is that he would eventually qualify as homegrown. (Funny as I was typing homegrown, the predictive text put in homophobic. Good job I spotted it <laugh> ).

in fact i think i posted something on the likes of "£75m for any player is steep but for a CB it's ****ing ridiculous " <whistle>

mind you i was one of the few who were totally on board with the Salah signing :emoticon-0178-rock:
