I haven’t been able to see any of the games being played but 2 wins from 2 with lots of goals being scored sounds positive.

Has anyone seen the matches? How have we looked? What does the team look like as a unit? From all things considered so far it seems as though we are making progress in the right direction. I know it’s only pre season and it’s more about the performance but with wins being produced surely it’s a positive sign?

Has to be good.overall the attack from the younger players looks really good. Kids always have a go and all ours look extremely good. Cant make a proper judgement with so many changes at half time, but the mood looks far better. Sterling still missing chances though !!

I didn’t see the Wrexham game but watched. Brighton one last night.

I mentioned in another post about needing a striker but as far as 30 minute cameos go, you won’t find better than Jackson’s last night. He’s like Giroud with pace.

Was a young line up so wasn’t sure what to expect but we competed well. Definitely gained control of the game once Fernandez came on. The new right back did well up against Mitoma, Maatsen very good also. Was on the team sheet as left wing but seemed to be popping up everywhere. Mudryks goal was excellent and he just looked more confident in comparison to last season, Sterling struggled though.

Can appreciate why Colwill is highly rated cause he’s one of these new modern day defenders who’s amazing on the ball but he needs some work defensively, gave an unnecessary pen away at the end too.

Colwill did that in the under 21’s final too. I’m
Sure that’s just an age thing and spending time with Silva will help him enormously.

Sounds like Poch is having a big impact and creating some stability which I feel was the major issue we had last season.

I always say you can never tell much from pre season. The players are all unfit, the managers always try new tactics and experiment in ways that they wouldnt in a competitive game, also the level of opponent (Wrexham for example) sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.
But we have looked good, its just whether we carry that in to the season or not......No way to know until the season starts.

Another strong performance against Fulham. Cant see any reason why Maatsen would leave, he’s meant to be a left back but all across the midfield he seems to fit perfectly. Casadei probably needs a loan, as does Burstow. Angelo on the wing looks good but seems like he’s off to Strasbourg, shame.

The main difference from watching us in pre season is we actually have people running in behind, Jackson does it all the time.

Still a midfielder short and we’re desperate for a keeper!

lol Poch has basically come out and said to Boehly and co, "WTF have you signed Lesley Ugochukwu?"
    Good start.......ffs
He is crying out for a midfielder, deals for Caicedo and Olise are at a standstill and they pissing about signing more teenagers to go out on loan!
Hopefully this isnt foreshadowing things to come with Poch getting pissed at the board.

And there’s now talk about selling Chalobah, who has outplayed Wesley Fofana ever since he arrived. In fact Fofana looks to me to have less of everything than Trevoh. Seems we never learn from selling young defenders.

News today that Nkuku is out for months rather than weeks. That leaves us threadbare again up front, with only one striker , an inexperienced newcomer to PL, plus the underwhelming Broja. Yet again we have so far stumbled our way with inports while selling all our midfield experience, leaving Enzo stranded, failed to sign a significant striker and appear to be selling Chalobah who has been better than Fofana. Come on Poch sort the Boehly Clown show out, get a striker, pay Brighton for Caciedo, and get this team up and running.
    Tempus fugit.
    Hope the kids come good

This is going to force us to swap Lukaku and cash to Juve for Vlahovic. That's gonna be what happens now, you watch.
Not that I mind, Vlahovic looks a decent young prospect and if we get him for dirt cheap AND get that stupid ****ing gimp Lukaku off our books, thats a win in my view.
Shame for Nkunku though, he looked good in pre season and I was looking forward to seeing him in the PL, oh well, guess we will just have to wait till December.

Yeah we’ve still got a way to go before we’re finished in the transfer market imo. Ziyech, Lukaku & Hudson Odoi will definitely leave. Ideally we’d be able to get rid of Cucurella but sadly I can’t see that happening.

Definitely a midfielder short, maybe two. Striker too now Nkunku can’t play until Christmas and I still think we need a wide player.

The last time we started a season fully prepared was the summer we got Costa & Fabregas. It’s great we’ve sold so many players but I’m stunned we haven’t got a midfielder yet after selling four in the last month!

This Caicedo **** reminds me of the Jules Kounde fiasco last summer. We spent a whole window trying to sign one player and lost out at the last minute and left us woefully unprepared and we panic bought Wesley Fofana at a ridiculously overinflated price.

Why dont we just meet the release clause for Olise and sign him up and get him in the squad?

It looks as if whoever is really in charge of buying and selling is doing their best to undo the lunacy that Boehly engaged in last year. Good idea, but they do have to spend serious money on serious players. Better than crazy money on ordinary players, but we’re risking not getting who we need to return to the sharp end of the PL. By the way, wasn’t Nkuku out for a long period last season with a knee injury??

The problem with the Caicedo issue is simple.
Brighton want us to meet their valuation, so we either meet it, or start looking elsewhere. We keep pissing about with incrementally higher bids but Brighton want £100m and wont accept a penny less. They have unequivocally stated this, so why are we still pissing around trying to shave £10m off here, £15m off there.
It just distracts our people from getting realistic signings over the line.
Either we think he is worth £100m or we dont, but clearly Brighton do.
I would just go in with the highest bid we are prepared to pay at this point, and if Brighton say no again, then we say "Fair enough....next!" and move on to someone else.

We are definitely taking our time but seems like it will be solved tonight by Brighton selling to the highest bidder, us or Liverpool. Been an odd few days, bid rejected last night for Lavia and we’ve gone and bought Tyler Adams for 20M but isn’t he injured?

In more promising news, Bayern want Kepa and if that happens I think it’s Tuchel needs a statue outside the Bridge. Fingers crossed we get rid, even if it’s on loan.

That Casceido transfer went well didn’t it??
Never mind we got Tyler Adams !!
Boehly only needed to buy 2 players, Caseido plus an experienced, serious striker , but didnt get either. What a plonker, 700 mill now spent on players except the ones we need.
Wonder how Pochettino feels now?? His job just got seriously more difficult.

Its okay, we bought a half dozen 18 year olds we can loan out.
    Like I said, by 2030 we'll be cooking! <laugh>

Whoever was dealing with the Caicedo has hardly covered themselves in glory, wow. I’ve seen reports saying we’ll match the 110M bid but I think that makes it worse. Learn from mistakes, however big this one was and move on.

Use the guy we bought from Rennes recently, get rid of Kepa and spend big on a world class goalie and all will be forgotten.

    It wont, not by me.
This is the second summer in a row we have spent an entire window pissing about trying to sign one player, only for them to do a last minute U-Turn and snub us.
Why are we signing players who wont feature for years if at all, to loan out, and players like Tyler ****ing Adams for £20m yet we are trying to undercut Brighton and lowballing them for players we actually NEED right now!
We should have just met Brighton's asking price weeks ago or moved on. This could have all been resolved weeks ago.
