We should at least be in contention for an automatic spot given the depth of the squad and the quality of the new arrivals ... the mood of the fan base is very much different to the gloom and despondency of this time 12 months ago ...
Think you done well, but I didn't think you would get him for the initial £30M - if I'd had been Leicester I probably wouldn't have let him go, but I'm stubborn like that and it depends what he had left on his contract. It just gets my goat, these very same players got a club relegated and then jump ship, but I know it's all about the money and I know they are not exactly flush at Championship level.
I think going down is sometimes good for the fan base, the only trouble is then expectations become too high, and I get narked with my fans over our Championship years, which was just a very very very small part of our history and they all seem to live off it, pisses me off.
Barnes was one of the few that put a shift in last season, as his goals and assists stats attest ... but he is also one of the top earners - on over £100k a week - so makes perfect sense to get his wages off the books from an overall financial perspective...
Jacobs reporting 40 million now so got what the club wanted and Newcastle acted fast amid interest from West Ham.
He'll excite your fans ... he's very quick and direct and his finishing has come on in leaps and bounds in the last couple of years ...
Hopefully EH can do a job and improve some of his perceived weaknesses too. I said before the start of the window that if we were to take either JM or HB, HB would be the much better fit for us and would provide a much needed goal threat from LW. That was before there was even any sniff of Tonali filling in RCM, which again, is a much better fit than shoe horning JM in somewhere ever was going to be. Very happy with the business so far. Just see how much we can get for Maxi and how far we can make that stretch now.
So, we butchered your entire club and it’s vision, you’re now preparing to play football in the second tier of English football as a result, selling or losing all of your best players, and somehow you have ‘royally ****ed’ us. Good one Fosse, just as well City are doing well innit or you’d have nothing to celebrate.
Stop crying Tel lad ... I'll likely have a promotion to celebrate and the start of a new adventure... just as you have ...
I thought we were in for him, but apparently we're buying Man City's latest prodigy. According to their fans he's brilliant, the best from their youth squad. He's too direct for Pep's style, but would suits us perfectly.
Carlos Borges. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlos-borges/profil/spieler/742451 looks pretty good, but then he's at City, so even my stats might've been good. Their fans rate him highly though.
