Reported Silva leaving Fulham to manage in SA.
Question on radio. Would you watch SA football league if it was an option?

They've offered him £40m for a two year deal, which must be tempting, though he's not actually said anything about it yet.

Fulham quoted as saying they are resigned to losing him. No wonder our petrol is so high. We are paying for this circus that’s not even come to our town.

A few years ago, Chinese and Russian clubs were playing big salaries for high profile players and not sure many Europeans started watching the Chinese or Russia league, so doubt many Europeans will regularly watch SA football. More money for the players though, so a good thing.

If it does get popular and competitive, probably see the idea of a European league being touted again, as clubs will want the increased income and profile to compete against SA money.

It would just be like watching testimonials each week.
Any player who goes there has no further ambitions to reach the their potential.

    so no.

I wouldn't but if ithey gets enough "superstars" there are plenty who will.

People love glory and plastics be plastics.

How much of a bung to UEFA to buy thier way into the Champions league.....

If they carry on signing very decent players in their prime, a lot of the world will start watching. Feels different to Russia and China doing it as apart from a few exceptions, most were players looking for a last payday. I know Benzema and Ronaldo are doing exactly that but they are still very good players.

Can't see it having that much appeal really unless they manage to bring it onto the European football structure somehow, there's a lot of football much closer to home to follow which people might feel more attached to. It has curiosity value, all those superannuated larkers trying to avoid getting injured whilst pretending to be enjoying it. Not for me, I wouldn't know who to be shouting for!
