Why don't we start the season with a shortage of CBs that would be novel

Axel Tuanzebe is a free agent, having been released by ManUtd. At 25, he's a CB who can also play at RB or DM.

Suspect his wages will be well out of our price range circa £40-50k/week at MUFC.
then again his loan at Stoke was affected by injury, so sounds absolutely perfect for us.

Far too injury prone I think, if anyone can get him playing regularly they will have a good player in their hands though

 

Wagner has said that we don’t need to sell to buy but that could be the party line so as not to weaken our negotiating position

 

Joel Latibeaudiere Could be a more interesting target for me. He has just been released by Swansea as his contract came to an end, mainly a CB who can also play at RB and DM.

 

I think he's now signed for Coventry. This from Wiki:

He just signed for Coventry, if this is true.

So, what other positions do fans suggest that we need to fill? A CB has been mooted (assuming that Omo goes). It seems to have gone very quiet since the early entry of four players to CR.

If Omo goes I think we need 2 CBs. I don’t think we will see Hanley come back as a regular now unfortunately and I believe his contract is up next year.
A winger/CAM advanced playmaker type.
And I would go for another striker for third choice so that we can send Idah out on loan

Advanced playmaker, yes, but not another winger IMO. Develop some of those we have, plus consider using Mumba in that role.

 

Glass half full, my hope is that, whilst the club insist we don't need to sell in order to buy, we'd rather sell before we buy so we can make the best signings with the budget generated.

If we're looking at adding an extra CB, the choice might be adding an inexpensive backup player now, or wait until Omobamidele is sold and add two more expensive players.
