I did my coaching badge about 3-4 years ago. The guy running the session knew Dele quite well and talked about how difficult childhoods can both make and break a footballer. Dele's childhood made him determined - and quite sadly forced him out into the street with a ball a lot - but on the other hand it gave him issues you can see on the field, like having to win at any cost.

We are all products of our childhoods.

For anyone who wants to see it but hasn't: a pretty tough and emotional watch. But very powerful.

Trigger warning: sexual abuse, addiction and mental health issues.

Seeing as she was only a temporary (and suspect publicity driven) appointment during preseason, it doesn't really matter.

Huge loss for us though with both Horseman and Carey leaving.

She was only put in a caretaker position but the news reports left out this part and focused on a woman managing a men's team

She did, at least one. Albeit a friendly against non-league opposition.

Hmm, will be interesting to see to what extent. Leeds (and Leicester) have more FFP concerns than us and Leeds have been giving players away for free (either on loan: Koch, Roca, Kristensen, Llorente and Aaronson so far) and Rodrigo (sold for just £3m because of a clause in the contract).

Off the bench for his debut, scores the winner on 93:47 in a cup game. Not a bad start for Messi <laugh>

I knew we should have looked at him as a JWP replacement once we knew he was available on a free.

I was really saddened to learn of the deaths of Chris Bart-Williams and Trevor Francis. The former was a mainstay of the early days of the Premier League in the 1990s and early 2000s and has passed away much too early. This news was really shocking.

Trevor Francis has a special affection amongst fans of my age who recall him as not only being the first One Million pound footballer but also a contributor to "Shoot!" magazine. He is inextricably part of my childhood being a key member of Brian Clough's European Cup winning team. It is difficult to express how shocking the £1 million move from Birmingham City was at the time and how this ultimately affected the transfer market of the time. It was massive news at the time.

I saw Trevor Francis walking along the sea front in Plymouth last October. He looked really well. RIP Trevor.
