That said, it was odd that Jobe wore 8 and Rigg 7.

Perhaps they only had the 7 in a small and the 8 in extra large :D

Don’t think we would get much for him now anyway. Bad injury and only 12 months remaining

Me too, if he’s good enough and strong enough to cope with the physical side of the game he will get his chance.

The lad knows he is at the best club he could be at for his age, no other club our size would even think about playing a 16/17 year old in the first team.

You have to credit Mowbray, in my opinion, for not throwing him in when Simms and Stewart were out ...

... but I think Rigg is virtually forcing his hand now.

Gelhardt missed chances I don't think Rigg would but failing to score, be promoted, etc, while still at school could've been too much to handle ...

... as could winning the playoffs and going to the PL via Wembley.

I could barely cope with beating Wycombe <laugh>

I know Sunderland fans are obsessed with players only having one position but that is taking it to extremes. The lad is 16, highly talented and full of potential. At the moment he looks like a number 10 but he could easily end up as a striker, a number 10, a full back or anywhere in between. Restricting him ton one position at the age of 16 is nonsense.

Just a little - O'Nien, Colback, Gooch, Richardson...........as in 'yes, he was brilliant today but he's not a CB/FB/Striker/CM etc'.

Rigg has got a big whiff of Don Huchison about him imo. The lad can stick a tackle in as well.

What's crazy about Rigg is he only turned 16 a month ago today. Its not like he's nearly 17.

So exciting to see him looking so ready.

Anyway there is literally another thread talking about him and this topic so I've got no idea why its in here :D
