Roll on transfer deadline day. Numerous chavs making fools of themselves while City mop up the dregs.
Basically we are ****ed if we only sign a back up to Ingram. Nothing to do with his shot stopping. He is just **** with his feet and will gift the opposition with suicide passes.
Ingram was No.2 last season, he was No.2 the season before and absolutely everything points to Ingram being No.2 again this season.
if Mbro signed Dieng from DQPR, and Leeds buy someone other than Darlow that reduces Newcastle options. Rather than keep Darlow on the books, playing 3rd or even 4th fiddle, they might as well offload him at a cheaper price and get him off the pay-role. City playing the waiting game?
More likely it will be Newcastle playing the waiting game knowing Leeds can afford him due to parachute payments, and Darlow's agent waiting for the same reason trying to get him as close to the salary he was already on at Newcastle. It's a shame because we looked far more solid under Darlow, not just because of his shot-stopping but also because of how he marshals the defence on set plays etc. Darlow probably guarantees the team a minimum mid-table spot. With Ingram as number 1, I'd suggest mid-table would be the maximum.
There is that, true...i guess it depends on whether Leeds want to shell out £5m and offer him a salary that mirrors the one he got at the Barcodes. I don't think Leeds are exactly rolling in it, they'll have prem contracts to honour. Hopefully, they may baulk at the price as well leaving City in pole. One hopes..
Mental to me people dispute the issues in the team to be with Seri or Tufan. If the players surrounding Seri were of his quality he’d be releasing it much quicker, with Christie we used to see that when he was knocking it about with Seri/Tufan. Back end of last year the back line were extremely limited on the ball.
Who was it then? I remember he was quite funny. Or maybe it was actually back in (the good old) CI days? #timeflies
I enjoy watching Seri and would always have him on the pitch but we use that out ball to him him far too often. In fact I think you would be hard pushed to find a team more predictable than us. I do worry that Rosie's desire to replicate Brighton is too ambitious for the players we have. It seems to me that it relies a lot on players with a lot of ability which Brighton have in abundance, well rounded midfielders that are dynamic, attacking players that have plenty of technical ability and pace that can capitalise on the gaps they create after inviting the press. I of course hope I'm wrong and that Rosie is a genius, the defensive shape is certainly working for us. But it doesn't seem like a huge surprise that we struggle offensively with all this considered. Lets see if a bit more pace in the side helps.
CI, those were the days. Whatever happened to aljaxonn? I remember standing next to his missus in 3 John Scott’s, quite bizarre standing thinking I’d seen her naked.
Even if we aren’t paying a huge fee, which I can’t see if £5m is what’s being bandied about, we’d still have his huge wages. Unless of course, everyone’s saying we’d be in the front running & then getting him on loan, which is still big wages.
Couldn't this all have been thrashed out between Clubs some time ago? A simple "Is this going to cost us" would've saved us time and effort and allowed us to target something a bit more realistic.
Whilst Darlow was good for us last season, it seems that we';re making him out to be Superman. If he wanted to be here he'd have been telling his agent to make it happen. He's what 32 with a good 4 years left in him, he rightly is looking to ensure his contracted wages are met. If he's number 4 at Newcastle good luck to him on somewhere around 20k a week. Our scouts need to be doing their work..
Maybe they did, maybe City have gone off the idea, but everyone on here still has high hopes of getting him back. When SB was here & before, we had, I think at least 2 seasons with a loan GK, after every loan GK, I recall everyone saying, we need to sign him up, then we ended up with better in McG. Even Jak turned out to be decent in the end.
If nobody else had come in for him, we could probably have got him on the same terms as last season, which would have been great. Unfortunately, other clubs have now come in for him and are willing to pay a fee, so we're looking elsewhere. I don't think we've done anything wrong here, we've just been priced out.
