We had a real stroke of luck when the Russian Oligarch sacked us with a big pay off. We left Antibes and drove, for two months, down the East Coast to the heel of Italy. It was dirt poor but the people were great, decent and hospitable. We're still in touch with people in Uggiano la Chiesa, wonderful human beings
Out of all of the musical talents taken too soon of the last howevermany years, he is the number 1 of who I'm most gutted about. Wish I could have seen him live. 27/28 is no age at all with all that talent.
I am envious Smug. The thing that has stopped me in the past is driving over there, I have drove just about everywhere I have been but driving in Italy is a nightmare. Even in Tuscany where it's mostly countryside my nerves were shot after a few days and I think the experienced put me off. I think I need to plan a train journey
Absolutely outstanding and other worldly ... ... I've no idea how he existed but he enriched my life beyond words.
I'm absolutely dreading Bob Dylan going ... .. after Hendrix, Cash and Elvis the last of the truly greats will be gone imo. There are those I play more but everything comes from them in reality.
Watching a documentary on the Kinks, excuse my ignorance but I didn't know two of them were brothers. Brothers who clashed and didn't get on at all, it's amazing they stuck together for such a long time. Glad they did.
I think he was the main creative drive of the group, seems to have written most if not all of their biggest hits. Interesting bloke, even mix of being self deprecating and fully aware of his talents.
