Afternoon all, been a while Actually, taking a step back from this has been good, and useful for me. Went to the last 5 away games last season, was at Fleetwood, glorious to be up. Peoples thoughts on the current season? May offer some of mine too.
Westy !! nice to see you back, weve made some good additions in the transfer market i believe and the prospect of more to come, we know next season will be tougher but i think we can achieve a solid mid table position and hopefully kick on from there. The buzz around the Club and local area has been fantastic and i cant wait for the season to start and see if McK can get this team playing with the confidence and not a little skill of last season.
Hi Westy, I took a break too, and am well pleased with our new signings. Shrewd business and patience rewarded with securing Hirst. A real boost to our prospects. I believe a top 6 finish is possible with the squad we have, and the wonderful transformation of the club. Bring on August and Sunderland!
Good to see you back ol beauty, personally I don't give a flying fig about the upcoming season at the moment, I'm just trying to avoid melting!!
Serious extreme weather Southern Europe, Spanish, try to keep yer cool! And still there are climate change deniers!
Welcome back Westy, I hope you've been well and that you'll stick around for this season. Fingers crossed some of the other old posters return - I noticed Scowey was posting a couple of weeks back. For the season ahead, I'm really looking forward to it. Actually, it's probably the most excited I've been for a Town season in several years. That's down to being back in the Championship, seeing some of the big names we're playing this season, and remembering that second half of last season where we just clicked. I think talk of play offs is a little too optimistic, but I think we will upset a few of the bigger teams in this division and finish in the upper middle table places. On paper, I think this is the strongest Championship in years (not just because we're back). I mean Southampton, Leeds, and Leicester alone - a few years ago these were all clubs that were on an upward trajectory! For us, I think we have a lot of strength in the existing squad. Walton, Davis, Morsy, Luongo, Evans, Burns, Chaplin, Broadhead, and Hirst should all be playing at their level. The likes of Woolfenden, Burgess, Clarke, Taylor, and Ladapo will hopefully step up too. I can't fault the transfer business so far - or the welcome ambition of our owners - but I feel we're currently lacking competition and a bit of proven quality in central defence and I'd love to see us bring in another striker. A bit of focus will be on McKenna and whether he can replicate the success and style of play from last season. I think how we play is well-suited to the Championship, but we're obviously playing a step up in quality this year and I hope McKenna's tactical knowledge and in-game decisions continues to improve. Roll on the new season!
I feel as though the club and the manager are doing all the right things - so I think games are going to have a party atmosphere.
