For me The Third Man is the best, Carol Read at his best. Hitchcock's 39 Steps second. Brilliant chemistry between the leading actors. My second favourite of his after Saboteur.
Zulu and Goodbye Mr Chips (Robert Donat version) are my 2 favourite British movies. I'm surprised neither Dr No or From Russia with Love (the best Bond movie) made the list. From the list provided to choose from I'd have to say Get Carter. Of the rest I haven't seen A Clockwork Orange and I think The Wicker Man is one of the worst movies ever made.
"Where would you find Punk?" "On my sheets. Spunk" All I want to do is do it, Big Girl, Big Girl, Big Girl.
I can't knock Stanley seeing as he directed Full Metal Jacket but it is difficult to defend him against Eyes Wide Shut. That was not the way to finish your career. The janitor in The Shining was Scatman Crothers who was also the voice of Hong Kong Phooey. Not that it is at all relevant.
