So.....turns out all is good! Had 8 weeks of seeing a consultant following high PSA tests. Then an MRi scan followed by a prostate biopsy, which was particularly unpleasant! Anyway, had the results on Tuesday and all is benign. Another blood test in 6 months time. Now I have a major operation this coming Tuesday to have a hip replacement. Funnily enough, with everything else going on I haven't really thought about that! Have to say that the NHS has been absolutely brilliant throughout. I was particularly fortunate in that I was able to use the urology department at a top Oxford hospital where everyone was superb, particularly the consultant. So.....onwards to a new hip and at least 6 weeks of gradual recovery!
Good luck with the hip replacement. Quite a big operation, but do what they say, and keep up with the physio, even if a painful. Good luck. Xx
I assume you boys are talking about a TRUS biopsy ? Not the most pleasant of feelings for sure........next on your plate could be a Template Biopsy.....now that REALLY ain’t fun Good news Col
If that's the one with a camera up ya bum and a needle through your perineum, taking 24 lumps out of your prostate, then yes!
It seems to be a rite of passage these days...perhaps I should say rite of back passage! I had a biopsy last year, it showed three very small malignant tumours. I had 20 days of radiotherapy which were a bit gruelling. My PSA is now close to zero. Good luck with the hip. An incredibly successful op these days.
Come on Col, that ain’t too bad…..it was more the thought of it that did it for me. Having 30 odd needles shoved through your perineum is a bit more tender The joys of getting older
Great news Col....good luck with the hip...you'll soon be back strutting your stuff on the dancefloor. Anyone know where I can get some new knees?
Good news that Col, speedy recovery with the new hip pal. Hope it improves soon as Gareth wants to offer you a 6 month deal as our new back up striker !
Hey Col. Glad to hear your positive news and hope the future stays positive. We may have had our differences, but health wise, I wish you nothing but the best. Also hope your hip op. is successful and you're out and about kicking many others' butts. Sincere best wishes and may you get to many QPR matches to watch the rise of our beloved Rs.
