The email says they strongly urge all 20 to strongly reconsider using a digital ticket. Just completely ignored the request for a non digital card.
That's terrible. Unfortunately I can't reconsider the age of my children. Google wallet isn't available to them due to it being an age restricted app so they need something else.
they will tell you to put them on your phone the club aint helping themselves with the email replies like
We have older members that dont and never have had mobile phones, disabled members that have very basic phones and children that cant have Google / Apple Wallet. I cant even buy tickets for the home friendly because i have no way of getting in ffs
I know that 95% of the adult population are meant to have a smartphone of some kind or another but hypothetically thats still around 2000 people who don't based on an attendance of 38K, and thats just for adults. How many kids will be going with their parents and they don't have a smartphone? It's going to be a nightmare for some families getting through the turnstile with one phone, do you go in first and pass the phone back to the kids? Or do you send the kids in first and hope you get in? And why the hell has nobody at the club even thought about things like this? I'm all for moving with the times and using new technology but its bloody obvious that going full digital was a bad idea.
not yet but on website it says If this option is not available to you and you do not have access to a smartphone, please contact [email protected] with the subject header ‘No smart device’ and include their customer number. A member of our ticketing team will be in touch ahead of the new season to discuss a possible alternative. would be utter disgraceful if any fans are locked out of going to the match
from Guinness Guzzler over the road Since I'm getting quite a few tags etc I'll just mention here that there has been communication between supporters groups and the club today which I've been involved in, and information is going to be released very soon. Will post it on here as soon as its finalised but by tomorrow at the latest there will be more definite information for those who can't use nfc. Literally just off a call with them so there'll need to be a bit of patience, but bear with me on this one, we've clearly stated that people need to know about an alternative arrangement and there should be a follow up post shortly
Blackpool just released details of their digital season cards through ticketmaster... Right at the bottom of the page they state this.... Supporters wishing to purchase a physical season card can do so in the Ticket Office from Monday 24 July at a cost of £20. Download Your Digital Season Ticket Today! | Blackpool Football Club (blackpoolfc.co.uk) so shows a physical card can be done
Embarrassing stuff from the club like. Basically been told me and my Dad can only use our season tickets this year if I buy a new phone. Emailed them back telling them what I think.
So do you need NFC or is it just a barcode so you can screenshot and forward it on to someone if needs be ?
Needs a solution, as I reminded the club. Me Dad just wouldn't have renewed, I'm trying to sort it out for both of us and its a completely unecessary stress.
There is a way to share tickets if you can't attend that other clubs with this technology utilise. No idea if it applies to us as sad sack Steve hasn't told us yet.
Blackpool are showing there is a physical card option hopefully we will too it is totally unacceptable the lack of clarity by club so far
from Guinness Guzzler over the road Chris Waters has been in touch and, following discussions between supporters groups and the club today, they have the following update: "Please note that an alternative season ticket solution will be available for supporters if the digital ticket isn’t an appropriate option. This will be a white plastic card that will display a QR code, customer name & number, block number, row number and seat number. To order a white plastic card, please visit the ticket office in person from Wednesday 19th July with your customer number details and identification."
