Morning all. Not sure I’ve ever had a bet at Pontefract before but a couple catch my eye. Firstly the very admirable old soldier Summerghand in the 3.55. This fella has contested much better races than this and is nearly a stone down on his best rating. Recent outings confirm he still has the appetite so have taken the 9/2 that was on offer earlier. Looks like the main danger is a 3 year old filly receiving shed fills of weight but she hasn’t shown any form over class 4 so far. The other one I like is Billy No Mates in the 4.30. Again top weight but is down to a rating where he should be competitive. He should turn the form round with Carrigillihy on much better terms and also has the favourite to overcome who represents the bent as a 10 bob note knight of the realm. 2 win singles and a double. Good luck all.
Nothing 'inspired' but Magic Mike has a good chance to complete the hattrick in the finalé at Uttoxeter (20:10) after taking a 56-day break. Field looks pretty weak? 6/4 (Bet365/Wm.Hill) best price at time of writing.
Don’t ask why or details but I’ve been playing with statistical models. Celestial Flight. Just hope the draw bias doesn’t ruin it.
Had a little nibble on Mary salome was out at 100s ew for a brief spell 70s / 66s available although not the best runner in the c1 i dont think Mary is that bad and staying in g/s looks a positive.
Value added in the next at wolves - NAP of the day. Steal abit of value lads! Buys the m+s food for later
Is it just me or has this flat season been so non eventful! Nothing really has jumped out, no one really to get excited about
Ok yes he was impressive in his runs, but not really given that wow factor compared to the likes of St marks basilica , Roaring Lion, golden horn and even to some extent altho I didn’t rate him Ghaiyyath. If you’re comparing past eclipse winners. He beat a mare albeit a very good one who really was 2f short of a trip and even you could argue her optimum is 1m 1/2. And the other two runners were there to battle out 3rd and 4th. Abit of a non inspiring race. He won an Irish Guineas which again not very exciting. Ok he maybe a late blossomer and will be interesting to see what they do with him. On breeding you have to think he will get further being by Siyouoni out of a mare by montjeu would like to see him do it again against more top class horses before you think wow this horse could be top class
