Connolly is a tricky one, there's obviously a player in there and I personally love a sh*thouse of a player who will get under the opponents skin. I'd hate him if he was playing against us but love him playing for us, a bit like ***an.

On the other hand, he is such a risk as he doesn't seem to be able to straighten out his off the field attitude. If he could AND keep the sh*thouse side of his game, we could have a gem. Just do we want to risk one player potentially upsetting the harmony we have in the dressing room that the players and Rosey rave about?

That said, he apparently absolutely loved it here and has been pushing to come back since he left. Genuinely said it is his favourite time of his career and he only played 5 times!

I thought they'd rekindled their love?

Have they broken up again? When did this happen?

This is one of the reasons why I wouldn’t want us to sign Jonson Clarke-Harris. Some players just aren’t worth it to have them in the team. Look how much of a **** Bullard was and how his toxic attitude and behaviour rubbed other players and staff the wrong way.

Connolly seemed to bed in pretty well. Clarke Harris is a mercenary who no one will sign at this level.

If Brighton want good money for him they’d have to stick him in their team and let him prove himself. As it is they have a player who could be worth something but is at an age where he’s no longer a youth, thus not worth extending his contract for hopeful potential, on a bigger salary than he’s probably worth at the minute, he’s not getting in their team and thus just losing them money.

Best to cut your losses in a situation like that. They could play hard ball and end up a million quid worse off.

I said from the start that we were after Twine and we have had advanced conversations. The conversations actually started straight after the game when we played Burnley at home and I know that for a fact, although Burnley were reluctant at that time.

Vinagre at LB, Twine at LW and one of Delap, Connolly or Oscar (unlikely) up top would be a great left hand side.

He's out of contract, they won't get good money for him regardless.

Well what I’ve learnt so far on this thread is:-
    Oscars defo going
Connelly and Tetteh will definitely be injured all next season
Delap is overrated and will be rubbish
Harry will go on loan to Brid Town or is it Trinity
Vinagre is totally f****d so is signing
Darlow loved it here that much he’s going to Boro - not for the money
Tufan’s bought a house in Swanland so he’s going back to Turkey
Greaves is defo going for peanuts
City should make admission free to all
but what I wish is that I had all your crystal balls or access to the firm info you all have access to .
Opinions are fine negative guesses or assumptions are really worthless .
Anyway how do you all ‘know’ this stuff, club’s a sieve of confidential information
    Mind you it’s entertaining LOL

You see it quite often, players like him are extremely talented but a side to them. It needs a manager that can handle them, it was often said if Ferguson had signed Gascoigne his career outcome would have been different, let's hope Rossy can get the best out of him and keep him in check off the field.

Unfortunately the type of robustness he seeks will not be found in a tin of spinach.

Who else is going to pay him £8-10k a week? He failed at Boro, failed at Venezia and got crocked with us

Considering we'll have paid similar to get Vale for half a season and Baxter for a full season, I don't think it's a bad punt.

At the end of the day, they're loans so who cares if they play. It gives us loads of options upfront and all the out-and-out strikers are a little different.

Only one of Oscar, Tetteh, Delap and Connolly is a proven regular goalscorer.
They are not easy to find ...and even harder to get to come to us ... ,and to settle .
Why on earth would we be so crazy as to let go the only one we have? Unless the offer was ridiculous, like £20m + minimum; even then I'd still think hard about it

Because developing talent and selling on to reinvest is the businessplan for all championship clubs without parachute payments.

It will be a question of maximising his value. Will be worth less in his final year.
