We could sell him and sign a big name and respective big name flops. Alternatively Connolly/Delap/Tetteh could step up to the plate. Its all conjecture

Oscar I would say would guarantee 20 goals in the Championship this coming season if he stays fit and gets some form of service.

It would be utter madness to sell him. Especially if we are targeting promotion.

You can never have enough goal scorers.

Relying on two loanees and Tetteh who missed large chunks of last season through injury. Brilliant.

Óscar, Tetteh and Delap is enough. If Óscar goes, get someone just as good, not ****ing Connolly or Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Good job it wasn't a 2-2 draw! His nickname would be Desmond!

Agreed, but unfortunately everyone has a price and teams are getting close to Oscar's ( which is a decent price if what I'm told is correct )

I agree its not ideal but lets not write anyone off at this stage. Besides its being reported Shota and the staff did naff all to get them fit for the hardest start to a champ season in recent memory due to the world cup

Not enough to buy replacements hence why they are trying to cover areas with loans and as one forward has recently declined again or his club have we would be silly to just sell Oscar when we know he can do the job here add to that he does not want to leave.

Do you know if we’ll replace him with a “marquee” signing ?

You hear it all the time when we try to sign someone. "Deal on the table IF the other club get an adequate replacement in" If we don't, tell them all to do one

Don't forget you can use 5 subs and often it is strikers who are brought on to try and either get back into a game or just rest the regular starters. Most clubs have 4 to choose from, so Oscar/Tetteh/Connolly/Delap looks a pretty good quartet to me.

Think people have to realise this is sadly how teams without parachute money have to operate. Maximise value of your players. Oscar has 2 years left on his deal. He's at prime time to sell him while holding all the leverage to max out his value. Gutted if he leaves as he looked really sharp the other day. But if we command a good fee then for a player they signed for free to turn a profit a year later is just the way they have to do business.

Personally if the club are serious about pushing for promotion letting Oscar go if they did would be a huge mistake, they are building a team for success even if they brought a replacement in it would be a step backwards letting him go.

He has had last season to settle and this season he can push on, the man scores goals and this season he can do it for fun.

I hope it’s no one in the Championship. It does seem a backwards step. We have 2 unknown quantities in Delap and Connelly. With regards long term fitness and goal scoring ability.

How much of Connolly's issues are in his head? After that brace on his birthday, he said his wild days were behind him and he would be spending a quiet night in watching a movie with the "missus." Well, I believe the "missus" has since departed, which might explain the origins of that mysterious illness. I am not sure that he handles the outside of football aspect of life very well.
This opinionated drivel is brought to you by someone with absolutely no professional qualifications in psychiatry, psychology, scientific research in the speciality of emotional intelligence. Thank you for reading this hypothesis and please feel free to provide a robust argument to further develop this discourse. Opinions ranging from "interesting perspective" to "get the f... out of here you ignorant ass wipe" are welcome, especially the latter.

If Viktor Gyökeres is worth over £20m, Oscar is worth at least £10m, surely?

Some footballers aren't model athletes all of the time. Grealish likes a drink, for example.

An example closer to home is James Scott who never really adjusted moving to City from Motherwell. He started off with a really unfortunate injury and I think he struggled mentally with it as well. Young lad, away from home, probably a bit isolated and lonely. When he was injured, he used to eat Domino's pizza twice a week or something, apparently. Normally, you'd say that's unacceptable for an injured player to not be keeping physically fit and having a good diet but it could've been stress-eating and boredom, possibly caused by depression and feeling isolated.
