Just so the other threads aren't taken off topic this is the latest off the field announcement..... I think they are taking the piss with a 2 week time frame to create a website. It should have been all sorted, tested and approved ready to flick the switch at midnight. Not to have the strips available for fans to buy before the first pre season game is a ****ing joke, and we have handed the keys over to what appears to be a tinpot firm to handle all of this stuff. I love what we are doing on the pitch, recruitment is looking great, investment in the AoL etc. But the non football side appears to be a ****ing shambles imo. Apologies, for being negative when there is so much positivity around at the moment.
It seems like there has been a big recruitment drive on the footballing side (and rightly so) but I don't think this has been replicated on the none footballing side. Are we too thin on the ground or are they just crap I wonder.
Could it be the kit situation is out of SAFCs control. Posted on twitter, some Premier clubs have not put their new strips on sale yet. Probably other championship clubs are not on sale yet
see they got Portsmouth and Birmingham sites up so must be clubs end Portsmouth FC Online Store - Portsmouth FC Online Store - provided by the Just Sport Group (clubstore.co.uk) Birmingham City FC Online StoreBirmingham City FC Online Store (clubstore.co.uk)
Davison seems absolutely ****ing clueless. Like chalk and cheese with us regards on and off the field stuff atm.
Bit harsh. Our off field operations have nowhere near matched our on field in the KLD regime....something that needs to be sorted pdq imo. We need a slick admin operation that enables the fans access to be satisfied without any confusion or delay. It's important and should not be under-estimated. There was a match last season when I was having a drink in town early and Steve Davison and his missus walked past.....his eyes looked fearful to me....he was apprehensive about being challenged...not a good sign.
Can't argue with this. It's a mystery why the bloke who "runs" the off field operation is still there. He is obviously useless, but seemingly cast there in concrete. A website does not take two weeks to prepare, and even if it did, start two bloody weeks ago. Maybe no one told them there's a football season starting.
It all matters IMO. It's not just this instance either. Speakman referred to off field challenges in a recent interview, and they very badly need sorting out. Everyone in the same direction and all that.
Who appointed 'look into it though'? We seem to have a habit of appointing old blokes past their industry sell by date.
The off the field stuff really needs sorting and quickly. Every penny lost is a penny off the wage budget and we shouldn't just be accepted to put up with it. On the field is brilliant, off the field a shambles
He was a weird appointment. A relatively junior operations person at a construction company with no customer facing experience was always going to struggle with the supporter-facing stuff His experience is entirely focused on driving cost down and the bottom line. He will be pleased to have found a company that can do it cheaply and is now finding out why they’re cheap
Actually reading that again - the delay to the shop reopening is because we changed our mind and didn’t want them any more?!? How bizarre
