A certain Man City fans opinion on us...

We're not Stoke

 

for years there have always been two teams i've likened to us and that is city and west ham and have enjoyed good banter with them over the years i just hope the money doesn't turn them into a bunch of twats

 

To be honest they should beat us, however I honestly think it will be 1-1 and I'm usually right about everything.

 

Yeah but the poster says ''we can play a bit''.. Stoke can't play nothing haha. Also it's true we do have a couple of 6ft + players in Guti, Obertan, Best, Ba, Taylor, Colo and Krul. Not to mention the two Ameobi's, Perch, Santon, etc.

Some very fair comments on that thread indeed. Not expecting us to get anything from this game but I do expect us to not simply roll over and take it. Pardew has shown he has game plans for different teams in the league and I'm sure he'll have a good idea of how to approach this game and give them all we've got.

We could grab a draw here, or even a win if there was some kind of cock-up (conceded penalty by City, or a City player being sent off, or them just having a bad day).

We're in the prime position to get something where other teams haven't. They have conceded goals against QPR, Fulham, Bolton and Wolves, and imo we have a far more threatening attack setup than they do. Then of course there is the current best defence in the league, which means that if there's any team which is capable of keeping the Man City scoring to a minimum, it would be us.

Combine those two, and I'd expect us to score a few whilst preventing them hammering loads in, thus making a draw quite plausible.

Plus, we honestly seem to play much better football in away games at the moment. When we head to other stadiums, we go in as underdogs and fight harder than normal. However, when we're at home, I think we get complacent. For that reason, I'd expect us to play quite good football at their ground.

 

maybe we could snatch a win if, oh i dont know, the ref could give us a pen that wasnt a pen and then somehow fail to spot an obvious penalty for them...

 

Do we know who the ref is yet? If it's Atkinson I'm going to need to find a pillow to scream into.

 

I'm thinking Man United get lucky so we will be the luck when we get something.

Always biased towards City, yet always get Newcastle when we play City, whoever decides the referee's hate us. Someone like Tiote or Coloccini will probably get wrongly sent off in the first 10 minutes.

Yeah, it was Atkinson. The same game he apparently told Ben Arfa to stop his whining and stand up was the same game he denied us an obvious pen and gave them the most dubious pen of the season.
