I thought the fourth of July is supposed to go with a bang and marching bands. Has anyone spotted them coming down Beeston hill with the baton twirlers dressed in red and gold.

Ristac will be along soon with his eternal optimism and his stiff upper lip. This time next we will all be excited only to find out we are not getting a striker or central defender.

Police have moved Huddersfield home and away to 12:30 kick offs. Currently Saturdays but sky may change that.

What price would you accept for Llorente? The reality is we saved £2.5m last season and also got £0.5m loan fee and we get the same this season which means we save/get £6m plus the £5m next summer don’t seem to be a bad return of £11m. We can all argue about the stupidity of giving him a long contract and then loaning him out, we should also ask why Roma were allowed to renege on a buy clause contract of £13m. The final outcome shouldn’t be sniffed at

    Jesus f'ing Christ

I'm stuck at my kids School Sports day. I've never seen such a load of crap. It's the least competitive thing I've ever seen.

Nah it's worse than that mate. There's no hope for the youth. The FA will be handing out participation medals soon.

once again, there are approx 60 investors in 49ers Eneterprises ... this is because they are an investment company, like JP Morgan

of these, there are 11 senior members (major shareholders) and these 11 are the ones who need to comply with F&PP as they will be seen by EFL as having ability to influence decisions due to making up over 75% of the capital

Paraag Marathe is the President and Alexander Guido is the Managing Member, so they are the two who manage the fund

on the football front though, these 11 won't all be on the Leeds board, maybe 3 max who will be responsible for running Leeds and making decisions affecting the club, although 2 basketball players who invested in 49ers enterprises have in fact bought directly into Leeds rather than into the investment fund ... not sure if they'll be on Leeds board as names only

49ers Ent have 1 investment fund which is currently worth $6bn ... this fund has 6 investments, 2 of which are SF 49ers and Leeds United

they are looking to aggressively upgrade Elland Road into a world class arena, and one look at Levi Stadium where 49ers play will give you an idea as to how Elland Road may look in the future

most investors simply invest into the main fund, but some invest in specific investments like SF 49ers

therefore, it's important to be clear on this point ... 49ers Ent are an investment company, and their goal is to make money for their investors

owning Levi Stadium and Elland Road is good business sense, and increases the value of the fund when sale time comes, and they will sell Leeds in probably 10 years time once they have established the club in the top half of the Prem ... with the club's incredible commercial power, the 49ers investors will make a healthy profit

this is why a golfer like Rickie fowler is prepared to invest £2m because he knows he will probably get £10m back and he can have fun watching his investment grow out on the pitch ... oh, and he will be investing directly into Leeds as well along with his pals Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth ... so it could be that 49ers Ent get a bunch of smaller investors to put money directly into Leeds to help build the war chest

49ers are all in on Leeds, and they won't be fkng about with the club because they have shareholders to answer to ... they will be focused on getting Leeds back to the Prem first go and then to kick on from there and tap into the club's huge potential

Radz tried to do this on the cheap, and he came up short ... 49ers are too clued in to make the same mistake, and their pressure to succeed with this investment is different

just to add: investors in 49ers enterprises include other funds rather than individuals such as NuFund, I2BF Global Investors, Greycroft, etc.

their sports investments are Leeds and 49ers, other investments include business software, media & information services, electrical equipment and leisure facilities ... I imagine these will be linked to sports in some way

you seen his contract Billy? I haven’t but it was reported at the time as being c£17m … usually these reports package in add-ons to make it sound glamorous but £10m base would be unusually low

again, just off reports, but it was reported that Roma had an option to buy not a commitment to buy llorente… hence they were haggling ahead of our relegation.

He’s worth what someone will pay, and we need him off the books, I’m personally not criticising the club, just struggle with this ‘international defender’ in demand - and the price tag we get.

That's gone mate. Health and Safety. I kid you now the kids were carrying water to a jug and the egg and spoon has turned to the spoon and new potato race.

let's all hold hands and sing while we cross the line together ... I fkn cried the first time I saw this at my kids' sports day in Bucks many moons ago

having just moved to the UK from South Africa at the time, I can tell you that in SA this simply didn't happen, and my 8 year old lad who was a good sprinter was very confused ... school sports was always mega competitive, with trophies, medals and certificates being handed out to winners

you competed in your age group starting at 7,and you were taught to try your best at all times

from U12 if you were the best in your school at say high jump, you would be sent to the Provincial competition (in my case Western Province) where you competed against the best from other schools ... the top two U12 high jumpers would then get their Western Province colours and go on to the national champs, competing against all the best kids from the various provinces ... the nationals winners would then get their Springbok colours, the highest honour

to this day school sports remains extremely competitive, with a schools rugby match still capable of drawing 10,000 crowds and getting airtime on TV ... in fact, right now the annual Craven week schools U18 tournament is being played between the different provinces, and at the end of this tournament a Springbok U18 team is selected ... a number of these kids will probably go on to play for the U20 Junior Boks at their World Cup ... there is also a Craven Week U15 tournament with an U15 Springbok team selected

this applies to cricket, football, athletics, hockey, swimming, etc.

none of this holding hands across the finish line stuff, only healthy competition for those who want to compete and those good enough to rise to the top and potentially have a solid career in sport
