West Ham will have plenty of money having sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m or some such crazy amount
Why?, if it’s £22m, wait for a £25m bid, the extra £3m would pay the £2m Derby want for Knight, with 1m towards his wages.
Bristol City, Reading, and Swansea City battling to sign PL youngster on loan this summer https://the72.co.uk/2023/07/02/bris...ing-to-sign-pl-youngster-on-loan-this-summer/
Not really sure what most of you base your valuation on Scott.. I imagine it will all be fairly complex.. personal terms, wages, add ons, sell on clauses etc.. I also imagine Scott himself will be discussing first team appearances etc so the club it self will be important to him.. Throwing out numbers of his worth is pure speculation imo..
it is like an auction with a hidden reserve ... the rules of supply and demand faintly in the background! clubs can do a couple of / few things with players buy and play, buy and improve, buy and improve to play a regular game for 3-5 seasons, rear their own for the long term, rear their own for short term gain ... I would suggest AS will be looking for a buy and play? on the cusp of the ENGLAND camp at moment in U's ? ? ? then maybe full team! Any of the current top 8 are out of the picture! [ didnt list Brighton as first time up there and are could be's] 1 Man City 2 Arsenal 3 Man Utd 4 Newcastle 5 Liverpool 6 Chelsea 7 Aston Villa 8 Tottenham
Of course all those things are important, but in order to get to talks about those kinds of details the club has to receive a offer they find acceptable, £25m is the minimum they’ve said they need, they don’t need the cash and he has two years left on his contract, he’s also said he’s in no rush, these put us in a good place to hold out for an acceptable offer. if any other of the other so called interest is genuine that helps too.

Birmingham City looking into potential cut-price deal for Bristol City man https://the72.co.uk/2023/07/03/birm...otential-cut-price-deal-for-bristol-city-man/
He didn’t really “push on” did he?,nice guy and all that, but I, for one was a bit disappointed, he promised soo much at an early age, but doesn’t seem much better now than he was when he arrived, not sure if it’s our fault or his. On the other hand maybe he just peaked early and reached his level. When you consider how much Scott has improved, but HNM just hasn’t.
When you think Bristol City paid £7.2m for Massengo that's as much as Nige has spent since he has managed us, times have changed. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bri...expensive-signing-in-history/view/news/342531
He was never on my list of players we needed in BS3 and I think he should have left earlier because his performances were full of fancy moves with little end product. I don't believe he ever scored a goal for City and in 5 years of good match time that is a more than dismal record to have. Good luck to him but his time in a Bristol City shirt was mostly wasted, especially when you consider that 7.2 million would have bought a lot more players with better potential. A sad waste of good money that never looked like being a good investment despite all of the hype.
